    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain the subject product excellent in abrasion resistance, high tenacity, cutting off properties, dimensional stability, etc., by stitching a web in the longitudinal and/or transverse directions with sewing threads and randomly entangling constituent fiber of the web in sewing thread bundles and between the bundles. CONSTITUTION:The objective product having a structure in which a web composed of synthetic fiber and/or natural fiber is stitched in the longitudinal and/or transverse directions with sewing threads and further an entangled structure wherein fiber constituting the aforementioned web is randomly entangled in the sewing thread bundles and between the bundles to unseparately integrate the web with the sewing threads. Furthermore, if conjugate fiber capable of being attenuated is used as the above-mentioned synthetic fiber, the objective product excellent in hand, strength, general-purpose properties, abrasion resistance, etc., is preferably obtained. A method for treating the web constituent fiber with a high-pressure fluid under 5-200kg/cm pressure is preferred as a means for entangling the web constituent fiber with the sewing threads.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a polyarylene PA-based molded product by a method wherein PA-based melt-discharged matter is subjected to pressing at least once before or after stretching when a stretched molded product is manufactured by stretching the PA-based melt-discharged material. CONSTITUTION:The enhancement of the strength of a processed product can be realized by subjecting a melt-discharged matter made of PA-based resin or of its derivatives to pressing at least once before or after the stretching of said melt-discharged matter. PA resin having a melt-molding capacity such as polyphenylene sulfide, polyphenylene ether, polyether ether ketone, polyether sulfone, polycarbonate, polyethylene naphthalate or the like is exampled as suitable PA resin. Pressing can easily done by passing the discharged matter between a pair of rotating rollers, the gap between which is normally smaller than the size of the discharged matter. And the passing of the discharged matter through a small slit is also effective pressing for the discharged matter. The pressing treatment is given in a uniaxial, biaxial or triaxial direction effectively in the case of a film, although it is naturally only in uniaxial direction in the case of fibers.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To prevent the generation of various bacteria or plants and to enhance safety, by constituting a porous composite containing at least 0.01wt% or more of 8-10C straight chain monocarboxylic acid. CONSTITUTION:8-10C straight chain monocarboxylic acid is absorbed and supported in a vapor phase by porous body composed of activated carbon, zeolite or sepiolite or highly porous nylon having a specific surface area of 50m /g or more so as to be contained in an amount of 0.01wt% or more to form a porous composite. The absorbed and supported amount of straight chain monocarboxylic acid is pref. 1wt% or more and more pref. 5wt% or more. As the porous body-containing composite, any one capable of containing fine particles of the porous may be used for example, one wherein an inorg. Substance such as gypsum becomes a matrix or one wherein a polymer such as nylon 6 becomes a matrix.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a porous polyarylene resin molding easily and stably by a melt process, by stretching a polyarylene resin melt molding under conditions including a specified standing time, a specified temperature and a specified stretch speed. CONSTITUTION:A porous polyarylene molding is produced from a melt-molded polyarylene resin in the following way. Namely, the melt molding is left standing for at least 3hr and stretched at a temperature lower than the glass transition temperature and a stretch speed of 5m/min or higher. Polyarylene resins which can be applied particularly effectively in this process include melt-moldable polyarylene resins represented by polyphenylene sulfide, its copolymers and derivatives, polyether sulfones, polycarbonates, polyethylene naphthalate and compounds having structural units of the formula (wherein A is a 1C or higher organic group, and n is 0 or an integer).
