Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a color cathode-ray tube having high reliability and high resolution while saving the power by narrowing the neck diameter so as to lower the deflecting power, improving the focus characteristic, and giving the compatibility with other color cathode-ray tube. SOLUTION: In a cathode-ray tube, at least one part of a conductive wire 30 of a stem 13 for sealing a neck end of a funnel forming a vacuum envelope is bent in a projecting part 31 surrounding an internal conductor part 28 so that the bend part of this conductive wire is arranged outside in the radial direction of the stem in relation to the center axis of the projecting part, and the arrangement diameter of the internal conductor part is formed smaller than the arrangement diameter of the outside conductor part 29.

The correction electrodes 3 are arranged obliquely relative to the horizontal direction H, so that the interval in the vertical direction V becomes narrower gradually in proportion to the distance from the center beam side in the reverse side direction of the horizontal direction H.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make a color picture tube capable of attaining high resolution while power is saved by specifying the outside diameter of a neck where an electron gun is disposed, the diameter of a pin circle of a stem pin outside of a flare part, and the maximum diameter of a base fixed to the outside of the flare part through adhesion. SOLUTION: An electron gun 8 for emitting three beams arranged in a line passing on the same horizontal plane is disposed in a neck 2 of a funnel. The end part of the neck 2 is sealed by welding of a flare part 10 of a stem 9 to the neck 2, plural stem pins 10 are passed airtightly on the same periphery of the flare part 10, and a stem protecting base 15 is fixed to the outside of the stem 9 by a silicon-base adhesive. In this arrangement, the outside diameter of the neck 2 is 22-23 mm, the diameter of a pin circle of the stem pin 1 outside the flare part 10 is nominally 15. 24 mm, and the maximum diameter of the base 15 is 23 mm or less. Thus, a deflection yoke mounted on the outside of the funnel can be reduced until it can be made to adhere to the outer surface of the neck, so that power consumption is reduced.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a satisfactory image characteristic in the entire image area by reducing a lateral collapsing phenomenon of an electron beam caused by a lens magnification difference between the horizontal direction and the vertical direction generated in an image periphery. SOLUTION: An electron gun of this cathode ray tube has a main electron lens part constituted of at least four electrodes arranged with first, second, third and fourth grinds 5, 6, 7, 8 in this order, a first voltage of middle potential is impressed to the first grid 5, and an anode voltage is impressed to the fourth grid 8. The second grid 6 and the third grid 7 neighboring each other are connected with a resistor 100, and the second and third voltages having substantially same potentials, corresponding to a substantially intermediate potential between the first voltage of middle potential and the anode voltage are impressed to them respectively. An asymmetric lens is formed between the second grid 6 and the third grid 7 which neighbor each other, and a voltage varying, which is synchronized with a deflection magnetic field, is impressed to the first grid 5.

Abstract: PURPOSE: To reproduce a good color image by controlling the operation of each electron gun and that of each deflecting device so that scanning of electron beams over a plurality of areas into which one screen part is divided, and switching of colors are performed using time division. CONSTITUTION: An electron beam 18 emitted from each electron gun 15 is deflected by horizontal and vertical magnetic fields produced by each deflecting yoke 16, to scan one screen part 13 while dividing it into a plurality of regions. The electron beams 18 emitted from the twelve electron guns 15 disposed within the necks 14 of twelve funnels 11 are deflected by the magnetic fields produced by the twelve deflecting yokes 16, so that the screen part 13 is scanned while being divided horizontally into four and vertically into three, a total of twelve regions. This division into the regions is controlled based on signals transmitted from a control part controlling the operation of each electron gun 15 and yoke 16. Thus a continuous color image that has no gaps and overlaps is displayed on the screen part 13.
