Abstract:
The present invention relates to a high-functional meridian massage device that supplies or collects the air charged in a central cylinder part to or from an air bag part or a precise movement type acupressure rod- assembling box part by means of upward and downward movements of a central piston, thereby performing a meridian massage operation, and more particularly, to a high-functional meridian massage device that supplies the air charged in a central cylinder part to an air bag part or a precise movement type acupressure rod-assembling box part, when a central piston is moved downwardly, thereby performing a meridian massage operation, and collects the supplied air from the air bag part or the precise movement type acupressure rod-assembling box part, when the central piston is moved upwardly, thereby releasing the meridian massage, such that the massage effect can be persistently obtained through the repetition of the above- mentioned operations.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a wave generating apparatus for generating waves in for example beds, chairs and the like. In one aspect the device includes a motor driven crankshaft to which are attached several longitudinal beams. The beams mounted on the crankshafts are offset with respect to each other in such a way as to produce a phase shift between the beams. Each beam is provided with several links pivotally attached at one end to each beam and the links are spaced apart along each beam by a distance equal to the desired wavelength of the wave being produced. The other ends of each link is attached to a flexible membrane which forms a support surface of the bed or chair. The links from the different beams are interleaved at equal phase intervals so as to produce a traveling wave in the flexible membrane so that a complete wave passes during each full rotation of the crankshaft assembly. In another embodiment the motor is replaced by a generator and the mechanical movement of the flexible membrane driven by a fluid for example is converted into other forms of mechanical or electrical power.
Abstract:
A device including a bathtub (2), injection nozzles (5) combined with supply devices (12, 20) to produce hydrodynamic jets directed into the bathtub (2), and control units (22, 25, 27) for providing synchronized control of the hydrodynamic jets from the injection nozzles (5) arranged on opposite side walls (3, 4) of said bathtub (2). The control units are arranged so that, when they direct a hydrodynamic jet upwards from one of the injection nozzles on one of the side walls of the bathtub, they simultaneously direct downwards the hydrodynamic jet coming out of an injection nozzle on the opposite side wall of said bathtub, and vice versa.

Abstract:
An apparatus (40) for enhancing blood flow through a limb of a subject includes a compression sleeve (41) extendable around the subject’s limb and having a plurality of compressors (43-48) situated next to one another along the sleeve (41). In use, the compressors (43-48) compress the limb in sequence to move blood within the limb from one end of the sleeve (41) to the other. In particular, as a said compressor (43-48) begins to compress the limb, the compressor (43-48) preceding it in sequence already compresses the limb, and the next preceding compressor (43-48) in sequence ceases to compress the limb.
Abstract:
A vibrator, wherein massaging balls (treating elements) (201a to 201d) are supported by a treating unit (110) allowed to move along guide rails (101L, 101R), and the treating unit (110) swingably supports a roller support link for lifting (409) rotatably supporting a roller for lifting (311), whereby the position of the treating unit (110) in longitudinal direction relative to the guide rails (101L, 101R) can be altered on either the upper and lower sides by altering the swing angle of the roller support link for lifting (409).
Abstract:
A portable traction device suitable for cervical or lumbar traction powered by a pneumatic cylinder. The portable traction device includes a support structure having a longitudinal axis and a carriage slidable along a portion of the support structure parallel to the longitudinal axis. The carriage including restraining mechanism for releasably restraining a portion of a patient's body to the carriage. A pneumatic cylinder includes a cylinder housing attached to the support structure. The cylinder housing contains a piston and piston rod. The piston rod is attached to the carriage for moving the carriage along the longitudinal axis relative to the support structure when pressurized air is injected into the pneumatic cylinder. The piston has at least one pressure activated seal extending circumferentially around the piston for engagement with an inside surface of the cylinder housing. A bicycle-style hand pump fluidly connected to the pneumatic cylinder is provided for injecting pressurized air into the cylinder.
Abstract:
A bathtub for hydromassage, in particular for hydromassaging the back, is described. The bathtub comprises a series of nozzles 12 for delivering liquid under pressure, aligned longitudinally on the backrest 10 thereof in a substantially median position. Said nozzles 12 have associated with them control means for supplying them in succession with the liquid under pressure in one direction or in the opposite direction. This sequence is repeated cyclically for a predetermined period of time. The control means comprise a distributor which receives the liquid under pressure from a supply source and which is provided with a first substantially stationary member 20,34 and a second member substantially movable 24,52 with respect to the first member. The second member is provided with at least one opening 28,56 designed to be positioned, as a result of displacement of the movable member 24,52, opposite openings of the fixed member 22,44 communicating in succession with the series of nozzles 12. In this way the liquid under pressure is allowed to flow into the latter, supplying of the nozzles 12 being performed in one direction or in the opposite direction according to the direction of displacement of said movable member 24,52.
