Abstract:
An ultrasonic imaging system is described in which a column-row-parallel architecture is provided at the circuit level of an ultrasonic transceiver. The ultrasonic imaging system can include a NxM array of transducer elements and a plurality of transceiver circuits where each transceiver circuit is connected to a corresponding one transducer element of the NxM array of transducer elements. A shared pulser gate driver and a shared VGA is provided for each row and column. Selection logic includes row select, column select, and per-element bit select. Through the column-row-parallel architecture, a variety of aperture configurations can be achieved.
Abstract:
An apparatus, system, and method for a Gigasonic Brush for cleaning surfaces is presented. One embodiment of the system includes an array of acoustic transducers coupled to a substrate where the individual acoustic transducers have sizes in the range of 9 um2 to 250,000 um2. The system may include a positioning mechanism coupled to at least one of a target surface or the array of acoustic transducers, and configured to position the array of acoustic transducers within 1 millimeter of a target surface. The system may also include a cleaning liquid supply arranged to provide cleaning liquid for coupling the array of acoustic transducers to the target surface. The system may further include a controller coupled to the array of acoustic transducers and configured to activate the array of acoustic transducers.
Abstract:
A circuit for causing an element to produce a substantially linear response to an input signal comprising an element for providing a response, a transistor oscillator circuit for providing an electrical output signal of variable amplitude to excite the element in response to the input signal, the transistor oscillator circuit normally causing the electrical output signal to vary non-linearly with respect to the input signal, and microprocessor means for correcting the non-linear relationship between the input signal and the electrical output signal to thereby cause the electrical output signal to vary substantially linearly with respect to the input signal when the input signal is applied to the microprocessor means.
Abstract:
A transducer comprises at least one element including cells. Each cell has a pair of electrodes arranged between gaps and a vibration layer including one of the electrodes. The vibration layer is supported to be vibrated. A first cell and a second cell among the cells in an element have gaps which are connected to each other. The first cell and a third cell in the element have gaps which are not connected to each other.
Abstract:
A 1-bit microcomputer driven by a clock signal has two output ports. The signals from these output ports control two transistors whose signals from these transformers drive the sounding devices constructed of piezoelectric elements to produce a chord sound. The memory of the microcomputer stores a program by which two squae-wave pulse-train signals are formed of a combination of several square wave pulses. Each unit pulse train has a mutually different basic frequency and is output from the two output ports.
Abstract:
A capacitive micromachined ultrasonic transducer (CMUT) cell comprising three electrodes: a first electrode coupled to a cell membrane; a second electrode embedded into a cell floor opposing the first electrode and separated therefrom by a gas or vacuum cavity; and a third electrode opposing the second electrode on the cavity side, wherein a dielectric layer is sandwiched between the second electrode and the third electrode to create a capacitive relation between the second electrode and the third electrode. The three electrode CMUT cell provides an ultrasound transducer with two actively driven (controlled) electrodes.
