Abstract: A drop-in signal accumulator piston assembly replaces an original equipment (OE) signal accumulator piston in a vehicle transmission hydraulic circuit. The OE signal accumulator piston is positioned in a bore in a valve body that has an open end and a fluid port. The drop-in signal accumulator piston assembly includes a cylindrical sleeve having open first and second ends, one of the first and second ends defining a reduced diameter region, and a piston positioned in the sleeve. A spring is positioned in part in the piston and in part extending beyond and end of the piston. The sleeve is positioned in the valve body bore, with the piston, and the spring. A method for replacing an original equipment (OE) signal accumulator piston in a transmission hydraulic circuit is also disclosed.

Abstract: An energy recovery retrofit kit for a hydraulic control system is disclosed. The energy recover retrofit kit may have a first accumulator and a second accumulator. The energy recover retrofit kit may also have a recovery valve block fluidly connectable between an existing pump and an existing motor of the hydraulic system. The recovery valve block may be configured to selectively fluidly communicate the first and second accumulators with the existing motor.

Abstract: A inexpensive pressure vessel which can be disposed of rather than being repaired once it fails, which includes a cylindrical housing having two chambers separated by a resilient bladder. One chamber is for housing a gas while the second is for housing a fluid such as hydraulic oil. The cylindrical housing contains a port at one end and is open at the opposite end. The end cap which contains a through port and a gas valve is insertable into the open end of the cylindrical housing and is welded thereto. This weld joint in conjunction with a seal formed by attaching the resilient bladder to the end cap, will positively seal the pressure vessel. The unique seal between the end cap, bladder and housing is such that it will not be thermally damaged by the welding process which seals the end cap to the cylindrical housing.

Abstract: Some embodiments of the present invention provide an accumulator tank assembly and method in which a flexible bladder is received within an accumulator tank. The accumulator tank and the flexible bladder can each have an inlet aperture through which fluid is received within the accumulator tank assembly and an outlet aperture through which fluid exits the accumulator tank assembly.
