Abstract:
Disclosed is a sounding reference signal transmission method which is efficient in an uplink wireless telecommunications system using a multiple antenna technique and sounding reference signal hopping. A terminal is equipped with a plurality of antennas, and a base station receives the sounding reference signal transmitted from these antennas and estimates the uplink channel state of each antenna. The sounding reference signal performs frequency hopping so that the base station determines the channel condition for the entire bandwidth to which data is transmitted in the uplink system. In this environment, the sounding reference signal is transmitted through an antenna pattern through the entire data transmission bandwidth of the uplink system for each antenna of the terminal without additional overhead.
Abstract:
Methods and systems for transmitting uplink control information and feed back are disclosed for carrier aggregation systems. A user equipment device may be configured to transmit uplink control information and other feedback for several downlink component carriers using one or more uplink component carriers. The user equipment device may be configured to transmit such data using a physical uplink control channel rather than a physical uplink shared channel. The user equipment device may be configured to determine the uplink control information and feedback data that is to be transmitted, the physical uplink control channel resources to be used to transmit the uplink control information and feedback data, and how the uplink control information and feedback data may be transmitted over the physical uplink control channel.
Abstract:
Disclosed are methods and apparatus used in wireless communications. The methods and apparatus establish a codebook for use in sparse code multiple access (SCMA) encoded communications, in particular. The SCMA codebook is configured to set the codebook for at least one layer (i.e., a user) to include a constellation of points having a first grouping of constellation points located at first radial distance from an origin in a complex plane and a second grouping of constellation points located at a second radial distance from the origin. This codebook arrangement provides increased gains at receivers by optimizing the constellation shape to improve the distance between constellation points (i.e., SCMA codebook performance), and in particular more robust performance when encountering amplitude and phase misalignment in uplink (UL) multiple access.
Abstract:
Systems and methods for same frequency/band repeaters for satellite and terrestrial links. One system includes a satellite antenna, a terrestrial antenna, a satellite transceiver coupled to the satellite antenna, a terrestrial transceiver coupled to the terrestrial antenna, and a controller communicatively coupled to transceivers. The controller is configured to receive a satellite downlink signal having a first frequency. The controller is configured to receive a plurality of terrestrial return link signals from a plurality of user terminals, the plurality of uplink signals having a second frequency. The controller is configured to generate a repeated, terrestrial downlink signal based on the satellite downlink signal. The controller is configured to generate a repeated satellite uplink signal that is a linearly amplified version of the combined terrestrial uplink signals. The controller is configured to transmit the repeated downlink signal at the first frequency. The controller is configured to transmit the combined uplink signal at the second frequency.
