Abstract:
The running of a programme, designed to train the user to control one or more aspects of his or her psycho-physiological state, is controlled by signals representative of a psycho-physiological parameter of the user, e.g. galvanic skin resistance. This may be detected by a sensor unit (36) with two contacts (38) on adjacent fingers (54) of a user. The sensor unit (36) is separate from a receiver unit (34) which is connected to a PC (30) running the programme.
Abstract:
An intelligence testing system comprises: two-dimensional coordinate reading device (1) for reading coordinates of a distribution of dots which a testee has written with dots upon receiving instructions to write dots randomly and dispersedly in a predetermined frame on an examination stand; a storage device (6) for storing coordinates of said written dots, the order of dotting, dotting intervals or elapsed time of dotting; a central processing unit (CPU) (5) for processing anyone of at least the dispersion of the distribution of dots, the momentum of the dispersion between continuous dots and the movement between the continuous dots or the dispersion of displacements, by use of information such as the stored coordinates; and a display device (9) for displaying the results of processing by the CPU (5).
Abstract:
An apparatus and method for testing individuals to determine their capability of conducting predetermined tasks. A base line is generated which is unique to each individual to whom the test is to be presented. The individual's current response to the battery of tests is compared by using an algorithm with the individual's base line to determine impairment of the individual. The algorithm is statistically designed to pass individuals relative to their base line performance level while eliminating all false negatives. When an individual tests positive, the test is repeated one or more times and the results compared using an algorithm which is statistically designed to pass individuals relative to their individual base line performance levels while eliminating all false positives. Such is accomplished by providing a source (10) of images randomly and non-repetitively to a screen (14) for recognition and response by the individual being tested. The responses are recorded in a compiler means (18) and then compared to the previous results of the same individual which are stored in a data base (22) and then tabulated to provide an output signal indicative of the individual's present ability to perform the task in question.
Abstract:
To determine whether a person is in a state of expanded consciousness, the subject is shown an inverted three-dimensional image of an object and asked to state within a given time whether the image appears convex or concave.
Abstract:
A speech analyser is provided for determining the emotional state of a person by analysing pitch or frequency perturbations in the speech pattern. The analyser determines null points or "flat" spots in a FM demodulated speech signal and it produces an output indicative of the nulls. The output can be analysed by the operator of the device to determine the emotional state of the person whose speech pattern is being monitored.
