Abstract:
Hydrocarbon liquids such as fuels for gas turbine engines and metal cutting fluids are inhibited to the formation of dispersions upon application of shock or stress thereto by an effective amount to prevent such dispersion formation of a high molecular weight addition polymer of 1,2-epoxybutane.
Abstract:
A lubricant comprising water-soluble mixtures of polyglycols or glycolcopolymers obtained by the copolymerisation of propylene oxide and ethylene oxide, both etherised and having the following properties: a resistance to compression higher than 12kg/mm 2 ; resistance to washing with water at low water pressure (lower than 3-4kg/cm 2 ); no resistance at high water pressure (higher than 3-4kg/cm 2 ). The lubricant can be discharged after each working cycle in the waste water.
Abstract:
A lubricating oil composition for use in the crankcase of an internal combustion engine, having improved resistance to the formation of emulsion-sludge in the area under the engine rocker cover, which contains the combination of an oxyalkylated alkylphenol-formaldehyde condensation product and an oxyalkylated trimethylol alkane.
Abstract:
A lubricating oil composition composed of an oil-soluble graft copolymer, prepared by grafting a small amount of graft monomer selected from the group consisting of unsaturated monocarboxylic acid saturated esters, saturated carboxylic acid unsaturated esters, and unsaturated epoxy compounds to a copolymer having substantially no carbon-to-carbon double bonds expressed in terms of iodine value, having substantially no oxygen-containing functional groups, and having a number-average molecular weight of about 5,000 - about 100,000, selected from the group consisting of hydrogenation products of copolymers of (Alpha)-olefins containing 2 -20 carbon atoms, copolymers between styrene and (Alpha)-olefin containing 2 -20 carbon atoms, and copolymers between styrene and diolefin; and a process for producing same.
Abstract:
An amorphous, oil soluble ethylene/propylene/CO polymer having a mole ratio of ethylene to propylene from about 35:65 to 60:40 and lube oil compositions comprising said polymers.
Abstract:
Disclosed is a graphited gear oil containing extreme pressure additives, which significantly overcomes the increased tendency of graphite-containing compositions to thicken in use.
