Abstract: PURPOSE:To reduce an error of measurement when two photoelectric detectors are used by providing a converging means on the path of each separated piece of polarized luminous flux, and allowing luminous flux with small sectional area to strike the photodetection surfaces of the photodetectors. CONSTITUTION:A light beam emitted from a light source 1 is converged by a lens 2 and transmitted through a sample 3. The transmitted light enters a spectroscope 5 through a projection slit 6, and a desired wavelength beam is selected and emitted from a projection slit 6. This monochromatic light enters a Wollaston polarizing prism 7 to be separated into a couple of polarized components, but a lens 8 is used for improving the separation efficiency of light with this light velocity to form an image of the projection slit 6 on the reflecting surface of a right-angled prism reflecting mirror 9. Further, lenses 18 and 19 are arragned between the reflecting mirror 9 and photoelectric detectors 10 and 11 and the image of the projection slit 6 formed by the lens 8 on the reflecting surface is formed on the photodetection surfaces of the photoelectric detectors 10 and 11. Thus, the luminous flux is reduced in area and detected on the high- sensitivity photodetection surfaces, so an error of measurement is reduced.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To mix multiple light fluxes with a simple construction in a small size by receiving light on a light receiving surface at the rear end thereof after incident light from a symmetrical roof section having the tip thereof roughly orthogonal is reflected on the inner surface of a cylindrical section. CONSTITUTION:Multiple light fluxes divided into two parts or so from the same monochrome light source separately transmit a sample and control cells S and R and are reflected on a reflective inner surface of a cylinder via transmitting light diffusion plate 2 and 2' in which tips of a cylinder 1 cross roughly at the right angle to form a symmetrical roof section. Then, the lights are mixed and enter a light receiving surface of a photomultiplier P provided at the rear end of the cylinder 1. This symmetry allows the multiple light fluxes to be mixed at a high utilization efficiency with a simple construction in a small size.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To make photometry and observation easy by performing increasing, decreasing and interrupting of light by controlling the rotation of a chopper. CONSTITUTION:In the case of performing observation, there is no need for chopping light and therefore a control means 26 is so constituted as to stop supplying of pulses to a step motor 24 at the moment when it receives the signal detecting an opening part from a photointerruptor 25 after the observation command signal (b) for the time of performing observation is inputted to the means 26. At the time of performing observation with this constitution, a chopper vane 4 stops when the opening part 22 on the optical axis of an optical system comes, and at the time when the numerical aperture of the vane 4 is 50%, the quantity of light twice that during rotation of the chopper vane transmits. Hence, in the stage of observation of a measuring part, it is observed at the brightness twice that during rotation of the chopper.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To eliminate the influence of a background and disturbing ray, by computing the difference of intensity of light of an analysis light source and a spectrum of a central wavelength lambdao of analysis ray of light passing through a light absorption part. CONSTITUTION:Light emitted from an analysis light source 1 is divided into two pieces of light flux by a sector mirror M1 and straight-advanced light is reflected by a sector mirror M2 and then, is made incident to a spectroscope 3. Reflected light is passed through a light absorption part 2 and is advanced to the mirror 2 straight and is made incident to the spectroscope 3. The light of a central wavelength lambdao is emitted from the spectroscope 3 and is made incident to a photodetector 4. Then, the output of said light is amplified by a preamplifier 5 and is inputted into a signal processing circuit 7 through a changeover switch 6. The switch 6 is interlocked to the mirrors M1, M2 and contacts with a contact (a) when the light of the source 1 is made incident to the spectroscope 3 directly and contacts with a contact (c) when the light passes through the part 2 and is made incident to the spectroscope 3. The switch 6 contacts with a contact (b) while transparent parts of the mirror M1, M2 enter a light passage at the same time. The opertion of[input of the contact (a)]+[input of the contact (b)]-[input of the contact (c)]is conducted by the circuit 7.

The upper part 32 higher than the position of the height of the optical axis 3 of the rotary cylindrical body 31 is the pat interrupting the irradiated light directed to the reference cell, while the lower part 33 than the height of the optical axis 3 of the rotary cylindrical body 31 is the part to perform interruption of the irradiated light directed to the sample cell. The upper part 32 has a sector part 32a intercepting the irradiated light and the sector part 32b transmitting the irradiated light. The lower part has similarly the light intercepting sector part 33a and the light transmitting sector part 33b.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To enable stable maintenance of the position of vibrating pieces and make the device perform stable vibration by forming the vibrating pieces and a supporting part thereof of the vibrator monolithically. CONSTITUTION:This constitution is to maintain in a stable manner the positions of the vibrating pieces for the optical chopper of the light detecting device, which vibrates with single frequency. The vibrating pieces 18 and 19 are made by applying bending processing to two elastic metal plates, the ends on one side of the pieces are bonded by brazing or the like to form the supporting part 20, the other ends thereof connected to the supporting part 20 are opposed to each other at a fixed interval, and a light intercepting piece 9 and a balance piece 10 are formed at the tips thereof. In the vibrator X for the optical chopper thus constituted, a light to be measured, which is emitted from a fiber 21, is condensed at the position of the light intercepting piece 9 of the fork vibrator by a lens 22 and interrupted intermittently. The intermittent light is condensed at a photoelectric transducing element 24 by a lens 23, transduced into electric signals thereby and indicated in a meter or the like.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To achieve the simplification of construction and manufacture by using a mask which has two light receiving parts. CONSTITUTION:A chopper 1 which has a pair of blade parts 2, 3 is disposed between a light source 5 and a mask 8 which has first, second light receiving parts 15, 16 above and below a window 6, rotatably at a constant speed by means of a motor 4. Then, when the chopper 1 is revolved, one of the blade parts 2, 3 begins to cut off the light directing to the first light receiving part 15 before it cuts off the light derecting to the window 6 and finishes the cuttoff of the light directing to the first light receiving part 15 before it finishes the cutoff of the light directing to the second light receiving part 16 with a delay from the time when it has started the window 6 and begins to cut off the light directing to the cutoff of the light directing to the window 6. Hence, required electric signals may be generated without the need for forming the chopper 1 in a special shape or using any photocouplers.
