    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an X ray generation apparatus whose operation rate is improved and a continuous X ray generation time becomes longer with the advantage of a longer life by vibrating a target in order to enlarge an effective electron colliding area without thickening the target. SOLUTION: A concentrated temperature rise in the target 9 by an electron collision is suppressed because generated heat is dispersed owing to the enlargement of an effective electron colliding area of the target 9 which is obtained as a colliding point of an electron beam B can be moved on the target 9 by vibrating the target 9. As a result, the evaporating of the target 9 can be decreased. Therefore, a life time of the target 9 can be increased without thickening the target 9, the operation rate of the X ray generation apparatus depending on the exchanging and adjusting of the target 9 can be improved, and the continuous X ray generation time becomes longer.     Abstract: A bearing assembly for a rotating anode x-ray device. The bearing assembly includes a shaft having a flange at one end for attachment of the anode thereto. The shaft defines front and rear inner races and includes a plurality of extended surfaces. Front and rear outer race elements define front and rear outer races, respectively, corresponding to the front and rear inner races, respectively, defined by the shaft. The front and rear outer race elements cooperate with the shaft to confine front and rear ball sets which facilitate rotary motion of the shaft. A spacer including extended surfaces assists in the positioning of the front and rear outer race elements in a bearing housing. The extended surfaces of the shaft and spacer, in conjunction with emissive coatings provided on various portions of selected components of the bearing assembly, facilitate a relative improvement in heat transfer out of the bearing assembly.
