Abstract: MICROFOCUS X-RAY TUBE Disclosed is a reusable microfocus X-ray tube adapted to generate a relatively large number of X-rays in a relatively short period of time using a narrowly focused electron beam. The X-ray tube comprises means for producing a dense, narrow electron beam (16, 18), a target anode (22), and means for moving the target anode (24, 28) so that it is stationary during production of the X-rays but a fresh portion of the surface of the target anode is presented to the electron beam each time the X-ray tube is used. The target anode is preferably in the form of a ribbon.

Abstract: A computerized electro-oculographic system has a rotatable subject chair (2) surrounded by a cylindrical screen (18) on which the desired optical stimuli from projectors (12, 16) are displayed. Eye movement signals are picked up by electrodes (6a-1) amplified (24, 26), calibrated (46), filtered (26) and digitized (28) for interface (30) with a computer (32). The tests to be run are selected by a keyboard (44) to operate the computer according to its programs (36). The computer signals are then displayed (38) and/or recorded (40, 42).

Abstract: The (CEOG) system comprises an integrated system for automated administration of electro-oculographic tests and visual evoked response tests to a patient, and automated processing of the results derived from such tests. The CEOG system is responsive to operator selection of desired stimuli to be administered, as well as to operator specification of various test stimuli characteristics, for automatically administering to the patient the test stimuli having the desired characteristics. Electrode test data derived are immediately recorded on-line, and are immediately and automatically analysed to provide critical information for immediate display in acceptable format and in a very short period of time. The integrated CEOG system compensates for the offset voltage phenomenon typically encountered with respect to electrode test data by provision of both manual and automated compensating capabilities.

Abstract: Split-Imaqe. Multi-Power Microscopic Imaqe Display System and Method A split-lmage, multi-power microscopic image display system and method wherein the image of an object positioned on a s1ide is split into two optical paths, and is magnified to a varying degree in each optical path, the resulting respectively magnified images being displayed on respective monitor devices. The initial optical path includes an objective and a splitter; the paths of lower magnification and higher magnification each include a TV camera and a TV monitor, and may include various optical elements in accordance with the four disclosed embodiments. Further features of the invention include the following: provision of a microcomputer with data entry means, and respective mixers disposed between the TV cameras and their monitors for insertion of identifying information into the video signal, with subsequent display on the monitors of the identifying information and the image of the object being microscopically viewed; provision of a photographic printer for producing a hardcopy record of the image viewed; and provision of a lens switching arrangement for selection of various objectives without the necessity of refocusing after a lens is switched into position.

Abstract: A machine for examining the interior of a patient which includes a movable support for the patient, a frame having an opening adapted to circumscribe the patient, a shutter assembly, an X-ray beam source mounted on one side of the opening with a detector unit mounted on the opposite side of the opening such that a beam emitted by the source passes through the patient prior to reception by the detector. The machine includes mechanisms for rotating the framework about the patient while there is a relative translational movement of the X-ray source and receptor relative thereto. The apparatus also includes mechanism for tilting the framework such that other-than-vertical planes may be examined. The opening of the machine is sufficiently large to receive a human body and eliminates the requirement of water bags and other such paraphernalia commonly associated with equipment of this type.
