Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an impact-absorbing rope which is excellent in a mechanical strength and in an impact-absorbing property, while having a light weight, to provide a method for producing the impact-absorbing rope, and to provide a protector. SOLUTION: There is provided the impact-absorbing rope 10 prepared by twisting polytrimethylene terephthalate fibers 1, and having a diameter of 10 to 40 mm, wherein the polytrimethylene terephthalate fibers 1 have an elongation of 30 to 100%, a toughness of 90 to 400%*cN/dtex, and a boiling water shrinkage factor of 5 to 14%. Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rope having durability against repeated stress.SOLUTION: The rope comprises: a plurality of bundle groups 12, each of which has a periphery and includes a plurality of high strength fibers; and at least one low coefficient of friction fiber including PTFE, PE, PP, PET, PCTFE and the like, which is disposed around at least a portion of the periphery of at least one of the bundle groups.
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pneumatic tire capable of exhibiting durability performance more than that of the case that steel cords formed of carbon steel with a carbon content exceeding 0.75 wt.% even if steel cords formed of carbon steel with a carbon content smaller than 0.75 wt.% and with superior productivity are applied.SOLUTION: There is provided a pneumatic tire having reinforcement layers with a plurality of steel cords 10 being buried in rubber while being regularly arranged therein where each of the steel cords 10 is formed of a plurality of twisted wires 11, its wire diameter (d) is 0.15 to 0.40 mm, each of the twisted wires 11 is formed of a core segment 11a and a plating layer 11b formed around the core segment 11a, the core segment 11a is formed of carbon steel of which the carbon content is 0.60 to 0.75 wt.%, and on the other hand, an average thickness (t) of the plating layer 11b is in a range of 0.23 to 0.33 μm and the strength of each of the steel cords 10 is in a range of 3,000 to 3,500 MPa.
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for making a steel wire high in strength while keeping a satisfactory ductility. SOLUTION: A high carbon steel wire rod having 0.85-1.10 mass% carbon content is subjected to a front-step wire-drawing under a prescribed wire-drawing rate. An intermediate wire rod subjected to the front-step wire-drawing is subjected to a patenting treatment for adjusting the tensile strength within the range of 1,323-1,666 MPa, and then is subjected to a latter-step wire-drawing containing the last wire-drawing.
