Abstract:
A coating material (20) comprising a mixture of a thermosetting resin, polytetrafluoroethylene, a member of the polyolefin group consisting of polyethylene, a copolymer of polyethylene and polypropylene, and a combination of polyethylene and a copolymer of polyethylene and polypropylene, in a solvent, wherein said solvent being volatile and having the property of dissolving said resin, is produced and applied to a metal substrate (12).
Abstract:
An effective lubricant for cold working of metals is provided by a combination of a water soluble copolymer of styrene with maleic anhydride, maleic acid, and/or an ammonium or substituted ammonium maleate salt with an ethoxylated alcohol, preferably an alcohol with at least 40 carbon atoms before ethoxylation and about 50 % of its mass in the polyoxyethylene block in the molecule.
Abstract:
A lubricant composition comprises at least 0.1 % by weight of substantially spherical particles of a hard, abrasion-resistant and fracture-resistant, thermally stable and chemically inert material, and up to 99.9 % by weight of a supporting vehicle. The particles are preferably of silica-alumina ceramic material, and preferably have an average diameter of less than 250 mu m. Lubricants are suitable for most applications, but are especially useful for conditions of high temperature and pressure.
Abstract:
A composition that includes solid lubricant nanoparticles and an organic medium is disclosed. Also disclosed are nanoparticles that include layered materials. A method of producing a nanoparticle by milling layered materials is provided. Also disclosed is a method of making a lubricant, the method including milling layered materials to form nanoparticles and incorporating the nanoparticles into a base to form a lubricant.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a grease composition (7) which has a low friction and a low viscosity and is durable at a high temperature and a grease-sealed bearing (1) in which the grease composition is enclosed. The grease composition contains base oil, a thickener, and an additive. The base oil contains an ionic liquid consisting of a cation component and an anion component. The additive contains a corrosion inhibitor such as nitrites, molybdates or dibasic acid salts. The thickener is fluorine resin such as polytetrafluoroethylene. The grease composition (7) is applied to a periphery of each rolling element (4) of the grease-sealed bearing (1).

Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sliding mechanism with excellent low friction by combining sliding members having a particular DLC (Diamond-Like Carbon) coating on the sliding surface by means of a lubricant oil composition exhibiting excellent low friction while maintaining various properties of the lubricant oil. SOLUTION: The sliding mechanism includes two mutually sliding members with a lubricant oil interposed between their sliding surfaces; wherein the lubricant oil is composed of a lubricant oil composition obtained by compounding an additive selected from a phosphorus-zinc-containing compound having a particular structure and a sulfur-containing compound having a particular structure; wherein at least one of the two sliding members has a DLC coating film formed on its sliding surface; wherein the DLC coating film contains 1-30 atom% of tungsten (W) or molybdenum (Mo).
