Abstract:
Abstract:
[Problems] To provide a water-based lubricant for plastic working excellent in moisture absorption resistance and corrosion resistance, with which degradation in lubricating performances such as lubricity, workability and seizure resistance may not occur even under high-temperature/high humidity environments. [Means for solving] A water-based lubricant for plastic working, comprising a resin component containing a copolymer or homopolymer of monomers having an ethylenically unsaturated bond, including at least maleic anhydride (A), an inorganic component (B), and a solid lubricating component (C), wherein maleic anhydride moieties of the resin component (A) are blocked with a nitrogen-containing compound at a blocking ratio of 10 to 80%, and unblocked maleic anhydride moieties are neutralized with an alkaline component at a degree of neutralization of 40 to 100%.
Abstract:
An aqueous lubricant used for plastic working of metallic material which comprises (A) a water soluble inorganic salt, (B) lubricative agent selected from molybdenum disulfide and graphite and (C) wax, wherein the components are dissolved or dispersed in water, and wherein a concentration ratio (weight ratio) of (B) /(A) is in the range of 1.0 SIMILAR 5.0 and (C) / (A) is 0.1 SIMILAR 1. 0. And a method of lubricative film processing on a metallic material, in that the lubricative film formed by applying the aqueous lubricant is in a dried weight of 0.5 SIMILAR 40g/m . A water soluble inorganic salt (A) is preferably selected from the group consisting of a sulfate, a silicate, a borate, a molybdete and a tungstate. The wax (C) is preferably a natural wax or a synthetic wax which is dispersed in water and has a melting point of 70 SIMILAR 150 DEG C. The aqueous lubricant can be used for imparting excellent lubricity with ease to the surface of a metal having no chemical conversion layer formed thereon.
Abstract:
An additive package including an emulsifier and an oil-insoluble additive, a method for forming an additive package with an oil-insoluble additive and a lubricant in the form of a dispersion of an oil-insoluble additive in oil is described where an oil-insoluble solvent, e.g. water, can be used to help create the dispersed phase. These packages, methods and lubricants are beneficial in various applications such as internal combustion engines where the oil benefits from functional additives that are not readily soluble in the oil. In many embodiments the oil-insoluble solvent is partially or fully removed before use.
Abstract:
A grease composition having a base oil and a thickener, which grease additionally has from 0.05% to 30% by weight of sodium thiosulphate and at least 0.1% by weight of one or more additives selected from the group of: calcium salicylate, magnesium salicylate, calcium phenate, and calcium sulphonate, based on the total grease composition, and use of the grease composition to improve rust prevention and abrasion resistance. The invention also relates to a method for preparing the grease composition.
Abstract:
A stainless steel wire is plated with nickel (Ni) to a thickness of from not less than 1 µm to not more than 5 µm. An inorganic salt coat film mainly composed of at least one of potassium sulfate and borax (borate) and free from fluorine (F) or chlorine (Cl) is then deposited on the nickel (Ni) plate 2 as the substrate. The steel wire is then drawn to a reduction of area of not less than 60% to adjust the surface roughness thereof to a range of from 0.80 to 12.5 µmRz, preferably from 1.0 to 10.0 µmRz.
Abstract:
This invention discloses novel catalyzed surface coating additives and catalyzed surface coating systems, which contain one or more catalysts, along with optional other ingredients, wherein the catalysts serve to effect in situ chemical bonding reactions in that the catalysts function to initiate, to promote, to accelerate, and/or to increase the formation and yield of persistent, solid, corrosion resistant, impact resistant, wear resistant, and/or non-stick surface coating films which may exhibit pigmentation and other aesthetic features, and may be designed to be environmentally benign.
Abstract:
Polypropylene is used as a component of a lubricant/release agent composition in diecasting of metals, with the composition containing the polypropylene finely dispersed in a liquid carrier, for example in an aqueous emulsion; and, a process of diecasting metal parts using said composition.
Abstract:
A lubricant composition for the plastic working of metals that does not require a phosphate undercoating, is waterborne, requires only a simple application process of immersion or spraying followed by drying, and provides an excellent lubricating performance comprises synthetic resin, water-soluble inorganic salt, and water. The weight ratio of the content of salt to that of synthetic resin is from 0.25:1 to 9:1. This composition can also contain liquid and/or solid lubricating agent(s) and extreme pressure additive.
