Abstract:
Systems and methods for performing predictive frequency searches in ad hoc multi-hop wireless networks is described herein. In one exemplary embodiment, a predicted frequency is selected and a synchronization request is sent from an initiating node to a target node on the predicted frequency. If the transmitted synchronization request is the last synchronization request for the predictive frequency search mode sequence, then the initiating node enters into a receiving mode to receive a synchronization response message from the target node. If not, the initiating node selects a new predicted frequency, and sends a new synchronization request to the target node on that frequency. This repeats until the transmitted synchronization request is the last predictive synchronization request, and the initiating node enters into the receiving mode. The initiating node in the selection of synchronization request transmission frequencies can adaptively alternate between predictive and full spectrum frequency searches.

A system includes a first connector end and an electrical device having a second connector end. The first connector end has a number of electrical coupling features, where the electrical coupling features have a first subset of electrical coupling features and a second subset of electrical coupling features. The first electrical device has a second connector end detachably coupled to the first connector end, where the second connector end has a number of complementary electrical coupling features coupled to the electrical coupling features of the first connector end. The first subset of electrical coupling features can provide a first power signal to a first subset of complementary electrical coupling features of the second connector end.
Abstract:
A lighting fixture can comprise a rim or raised edge that extends peripherally around a recessed area. Light emitting diodes can be mounted in the recessed area and oriented to emit light out of the recessed area, towards an area to be illuminated by the lighting fixture. The lighting fixture can be mounted above the area, which may be outdoors, for example. A cavity can be formed inside the rim or raised edge. Circuitry for the light emitting diodes can be disposed in the cavity, so that the rim or raised edge encloses or houses the circuitry. The circuitry can comprise a light emitting diode driver, for example. The rim or raised edge can block emission of unwanted light, for example to function as a light pollution shield.
Abstract:
A system for validating an operation of a capacitor bank is disclosed. The system can include a first capacitor of the capacitor bank electrically coupled to a first power line. The system can also include a first sensor operatively coupled to the first power line, where the first sensor is configured to measure a first representation of power flowing through the first power line. The system can further include a local control system communicably coupled to the first sensor, where the local control system receives the first representation of the power flowing through the first power line from the first sensor, where the local control system validates the operation of the first capacitor based on the first representation.

A retention structure for retaining a recessed lighting fixture behind a ceiling includes an attachment structure that has a first wall and a second wall. The attachment structure is designed to be attached to a housing of a recessed light fixture. The retention structure further includes a screw attached to the first wall of the attachment structure and to the second wall of the attachment structure. The retention structure also includes a pawl attached to the threaded screw. The pawl is rotatable along with the threaded screw. The pawl is also axially movable along the threaded screw between the first wall of the attachment structure and the second wall of the attachment structure.
Abstract:
In one aspect, a circuit board includes a base board and a layer of an elastic material comprising a first surface and a second surface. The layer of elastic material is adhered to the base board via the first surface. The circuit board further includes an electrical trace disposed on the second surface of the layer of elastic material. At least a portion of the layer of elastic material stretches or shrinks when the base board expands or contracts. A method of manufacturing a circuit includes obtaining an aluminum board, obtaining a layer of an elastic material, and applying a layer of adhering material to a surface of the aluminum board. The method further includes disposing the layer of the elastic material onto the layer of adhering material, and adhering the layer of the elastic material onto the aluminum board via the layer of adhering material.
