Abstract:
A data communication apparatus includes a communication section that performs a pre-communication protocol and transmits data to a destination terminal. A memory stores data and communication parameters corresponding to each destination terminal, the communication parameters being utilized to perform communication with the destination terminal. When data corresponding to a destination terminal data is stored in the memory, a controller performs the pre-communication protocol with the destination terminal, using the stored communication parameters corresponding to the destination terminal. When a communication error occurs in a communication with a particular destination terminal having data stored in the memory, a memory controller deletes communication parameters corresponding to the particular destination terminal from the memory.
Abstract:
A mail retrieval moderator instructs an image memory usage rate calculator to calculate a usage rate of an image memory, and determines whether the usage rage is greater than or equal to 98%. When the answer is nullYesnull, there is a risk that the image memory will have a memory overflow if more e-mail is retrieved from the POP3 server. Thus, a timer is reset and the control returns to ST501. When the answer is nullNonull, there is no risk that the image memory will have a memory overflow even if more e-mail is retrieved from the POP3 server. Thus, e-mail is retrieved from the POP3 server. Accordingly, the apparatus and method for receiving e-mail is capable of securely retrieving e-mail from the mail server, even with a relatively small memory capacity.
Abstract:
A data communication apparatus includes a communication section that performs a pre-communication protocol with a destination terminal and transmits data to a destination terminal. A memory stores data and communication parameters corresponding to each destination terminal, the communication parameters being utilized to perform communication with the destination terminal. When destination terminal data is stored in the memory, a controller reads the communication parameters corresponding to the destination terminal from the memory, performs the pre-communication protocol with the destination terminal, using the read communication parameters, and omits at least a communication protocol for line probing. When destination terminal data is not stored in said memory, the controller performs the pre-communication protocol with the destination terminal, using communication parameters acquired from the destination terminal under the pre-communication protocol without omitting the communication protocol for line probing.
Abstract:
When characters are input, the input information is sequentially displayed on a first display, an e-mail address, which is registered in a one-touch key registration area, is retrieved by using the input information, and the retrieved e-mail address is displayed on a second display. Further, when an null mark is input after a character string input, the information displayed on the second display is switched to a domain name read from the domain name registration area. Thus, the null mark key, which is always used to input e-mail addresses, is also utilized to switch the display information. Accordingly, the data communication apparatus is capable to prevent the inconvenience of inputting the entire e-mail addresses and to prevent input errors.
Abstract:
An image forming apparatus is provided including a power supply that supplies an electric power equal to or less than a predetermined amount of the electric power, a first function that is a process before a printed paper is obtained and uses a first electric power, a second function that is a process performed after the printed paper is obtained and uses a second electric power, and a controller. When the first function and the second function are instructed to be processed in parallel, the controller compares a sum of the first electric power and the second electric power with the predetermined amount of the electric power. When the sum of the first electric power and the second electric power exceeds the predetermined amount of the electric power, the controller delays one of the first function and the second function.
Abstract:
An Internet facsimile apparatus is provided such that, even when an electronic mail includes plural data files that cannot be processed by the apparatus, prints the electronic mail normally. The apparatus includes a mail analyzer that determines whether a received electronic mail includes data that cannot be printed by a printer. When the electronic mail includes such unprintable data, the unprintable data is transmitted to a conversion server. The apparatus receives back printable data converted from the unprintable data from the conversion server and prints the printable data. The apparatus stores an indication that a plurality of printable data converted from a plurality of unprintable data has been received back from the conversion server. A message ID processor checks the indication, and the printer is informed regarding an object to be printed in accordance with the result of checking by the message ID processor.
Abstract:
A facsimile apparatus is connected to a telephone network and to an internet network. The facsimile apparatus is capable of receiving E-mail data via the internet network and transmitting facsimile data to a facsimile destination via the telephone network. A detector detects a password indicating an instruction to relay the received E-mail data to the facsimile destination, and a telephone number of the facsimile destination, in a mail address of the E-mail data. A generator, when the detector detects the password and the telephone number, deletes the password from the mail address, and generates header information including a mail address after deleting the password. A converter converts the E-mail data, including the header information, into facsimile data. A transmitter transmits the converted facsimile data with the header information, but without the password to the facsimile destination indicated by the telephone number.
Abstract:
A server apparatus to transmit music data is provided with a distribution request process section that receives music number, a reading section that reads out the music data from a contents server, and a notification process section that notifies the terminal of the music number, the size of the music data and the starting block number of the music data. The music data is divided into a plurality of block units. The server further includes a reception process section that receives a response from the terminal confirming the music number, the size of the music data and the starting block number of the music data, a communication section that transmits each block of the music data to the terminal, a block confirmation reception section that receives a confirmation notification from the terminal when the terminal normally receives each block of the music data. A control section, when the confirmation notification is received, transmits the next block of the music data, and, when the confirmation notification is not received within a predetermined period, executes an error process.
Abstract:
A controller determines whether a transmission data amount of the image data exceeds a limit capacity of a mail server connected the electronic mail communication apparatus before an actual transmission of the image data. Further, when the transmission data amount of the image data exceeds the limit capacity of the mail server, automatic processing is performed so that an electronic mail including image data can be transmitted. Accordingly, electronic mail communication apparatus of the present invention is capable of enabling users to save a lot of time for the image transmission.
Abstract:
A destination to which a line connection is not established is memorized in the process of simultaneous multicasting to a plurality of destinations. When another multicast communication starts, if the memorized destination is included in destinations, a call is primarily performed to a destination in the next order by skipping the memorized destination.
