Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve efficiency of a communication line and to reduce interference probability of a communication radio wave by setting time synchronization between a fixed station and a mobile station and the transmitting/receiving timings of the side of the fixed station, selecting one of the transmitting/ receiving timings of the side of the fixed station reported to the side of the mobile station and transmitting/receiving based on it to allow the mobile station to select the opposed station of communication. SOLUTION: The fixed station 101 communicates in two way with the mobile station 103 through the use of a receiving processing means 201 and a transmission processing means 202 based on a time reference maintained by a range and time reference synchronization maintaining means 200. The mobile station 103 communicates in two way with the fixed station 101 through the use of a receiving processing means 209 and a transmission processing means 208 based on a time reference maintained by a range and time reference synchronization maintaining means 207. A relay station 104 synchronize-maintains the time reference with a fixed main station 102 and provides a ranging radio wave 113 to the mobile station by a time reference synchronization maintaining means 205 and a ranging radio wave transmission processing means 204.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the traveling property on the irregular ground by providing a center of gravity moving arm connected to a vehicle body via a universal joint at the base end and pressing the celestial body surface at the tip. SOLUTION: A center of gravity moving arm 10 is provided with a first arm 12 connected to the upper face of a vehicle body 3 via a universal joint at the base end and a second arm 13 connected to the tip of the first arm 12 rotatably in the vertical direction at the base end. A grasping and holding handle 14 is provided at the tip of the center of gravity moving arm 10 to be brought into contact with the celestial body surface S, and the rotation angle and turn angle of the first arm 12 against the vehicle body 3 and the rotation angle of the second arm 13 against the first arm 12 are properly changed to press the celestial body surface S. When this space probe traveling vehicle 1 encounters a step A, it turns the center of gravity moving arm 10 and moves the center of gravity in the opposite direction to the step A so that the second arm 13 and the holding handle 14 are located on the rear side of the vehicle body 3. It can simply ride over an obstacle and escape from the untravelable state, and the traveling property can be improved.

Consequently, a flare light can be reduced while the influence given to the optical function is limited to the minimum level.

Abstract: PURPOSE: To attempt gripping of high precision and high reliability by providing a capture driving means to fit a fitting part of a cylindrical body on a part to be fitted of a handle or to release fitting as well as to grip a grip part of the handle or to release gripping. At this time, a head end part of the cylindrical body 15 is projected from the fingers 19a, 19b and fit in a part to be fitted of the handle, and an intermediate part of an installation member 16 makes contact with the side of a back face of the finger installation member 17 and supported by a manipulator base part 10. Consequently, the link member 21 works to be roughly orthogonal with an inwall of the cylindrical body 15 and to improve gripping force of the fingers.

Abstract: PURPOSE: To measure the depth of a surface structure highly accurately by detecting the resonance state of reflected wave in the surface structure from the voltage standing wave ratio, i.e., the ratio between a traveling wave based on the variation of frequency and each detection output of reflected wave. CONSTITUTION: A variable frequency oscillator 22 delivers a traveling wave and the intensity thereof is detected by means of a traveling wave detector 25 through a directional coupler 23 before being radiated tram an antenna 24 toward the surface of the moon 31. Waves reflected from the first and second surfaces 31-1, 31-2 of the moon 31 are received by the antenna 24 and separated from the traveling wave through the coupler 23 before the intensity thereof being detected through a reflected wave detector 26. The ratio of detection signal between the detectors 25, 26 is determined as a voltage standing wave ratio. The reflected wave from the surface 31-2 resonates when the wavelength thereof is in a predetermined relationship with the depth of a regolith 32 and does not return to the antenna 24. Consequently, the standing wave ratio is minimized. The depth of the regolith 32 can be determined based on the wavelength of traveling wave at that time and the known permittivity of the regolith.
