Abstract: PURPOSE: Specific primers for detecting watermelon mosaic virus 2 are provided, thereby increasing the detection limitation and sensitivity about 1,000 times higher than using antiserum, detecting all kinds of watermelon mosaic virus 2, and improving the detection accuracy by removing nonspecific reaction with other related viruses. CONSTITUTION: The specific primers for detecting watermelon mosaic virus 2 comprise a nucleic acid fragment selected from the nucleotide sequence set forth in SEQ ID NO: 1 or SEQ ID NO: 2 which species specifically binds with watermelon mosaic virus 2, complementary nucleotide sequences thereof, and mutated nucleotide sequences thereof; and another nucleic acid fragment selected from the nucleotide sequence set forth in SEQ ID NO: 7 which is combined with the selected nucleic acid and species specifically binds with watermelon mosaic virus 2, complementary nucleotide sequences thereof, and mutated nucleotide sequences thereof, wherein the mutation is selected from deletion of base, addition of base, substitution of base or the combination thereof.
