Abstract: A system and a method for transmitting a short message in a mobile phone are provided to store at least one specific message and to transmit the messages to a recipient designated by a user at the user's desired time. A telephone number of a reception side terminal and a signal for using a short message service are inputted(S101). A process for selecting a message among the previously stored messages for the short message service is performed(S102). Thereafter, the selected message is transmitted to the reception side terminal(S106). The signal for using the short message service includes at least one previously set signal among a toggle key, a number key and a touch event. The short message service is one among a short character message service, a short sound message service and a short multimedia message service. The message selection process includes one among the processes for selecting the character message, the sound message and the multimedia message.

Abstract: An automatic redialing method in a portable terminal is provided to enhance the convenience of users by automatically executing redialing until a call connection is made, without the necessity of attempting a call again after completing call origination. If a destination number is inputted when the automatic redialing function of a portable terminal is in an active state(201,203), a control part attempts call origination to the destination number(205). At this moment, the control part stores the destination number in the recent call list of a memory(205). Then the control part confirms whether a ring back tone is received(207). If the ring back tone is received, the control part confirms whether a state message is received from the other party(209). If so, the control part stops call origination(211). Then the control part searches the recent call list for the destination number and transmits an origination signal again(213). Abstract: A keypad foot printing method and apparatus in a mobile terminal are provided to illuminate or blink a pressed key in a different color to user recognition. A controller of a mobile terminal checks whether a keypad foot print mode has been set in a standby mode in order to use keypad foot printing(401,403,405). When a key of a key input unit is pressed long(407), the mobile terminal is change to a speed dial mode(409) and the controller fetches a phone number from a memory and displays it(411). When a call key is pressed(433), the controller performs dialing to call the other party(413). When the mobile terminal has been set such that keys blink in the pressed order(414), an LED starts to blink in the pressed order(415). The controller turns on an internal timer(419) and checks a time period during which the LED blinks or illuminated(421). When the counted time lapses, the controller turns off the timer and the LED(423).
