    Abstract: A cleaning robot using a carpet detector and a method for detecting a carpet boundary are provided to detect a carpet conveniently by mounting carpet detecting units where a robot senses the carpet via driving units. A cleaning robot using a carpet detector comprises a robot body for cleaning(110), driving units(120), and carpet detecting units(100). The driving units are mounted on the body to drive a robot. The carpet detecting units has the robot detecting a carpet by the driving units. The carpet detecting units include a contact unit where the robot makes a contact with the carpet while moving on the carpet, and a detecting unit detecting motion of the contact unit generated by contact.

    Abstract: A method and an apparatus for notifying a state of a body are provided to accurately detects a PPG(Photoplethysmography) signal by using a patch-type PPG signal detector, which is attached to a specific portion of the body. An apparatus for informing a physical condition includes a PPG measuring unit and an alarm output unit. The PPG measuring unit is patched a measuring position of a user and measures a PPG signal. The alarm output unit calculates a heart rate of the user by using the PPG signal and outputs an alarm message, when the calculated heart rate exceeds a predetermined range, which is determined by a physical activity of the user. The PPG measuring unit includes an optical source(101), a detector(102), and a patch(100). The optical source irradiates a light on the measuring position of the body. The detector detects a reflected beam or a passing beam. The optical source and the detector are arranged in the patch(100), which is attached to the measuring position of the user.
