PURPOSE: A containing vessel for a liquid crystal display, a backlight assembly having the same, and a liquid crystal display using the same are provided to easily handle lamp wires and prevent disconnection of the lamp wires from a lamp by fixing the lamp wires at a wire containing part formed at the back of a containing vessel. CONSTITUTION: A lower plate(110) has an aperture(113). A side wall(122) is extended from a frame of the lower plate for forming a containing space, and includes an inner surface having a first through hole(123) connected with the containing space. A first trench(130) is continuously formed from the first through hole to the inside of the aperture along by an outer surface of the side wall and a lower plane of the lower plate to contain a first wire.

PURPOSE: An LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) is provided to modify the shape of a mold frame to improve display quality. CONSTITUTION: An LCD includes a display panel for displaying images, a lamp(710), a mold frame(800), and a top chassis(900). The mold frame includes a protruded part that is opposite to the side wall of the top chassis and projected outward to be mounted on the side wall of the top chassis. The lamp is housed in a lamp cover(712) and accommodated in an accommodation space of the mold frame. A reflecting plate, a light guide and optical sheets are sequentially accommodated in the accommodation space of the mold frame. The LCD further includes an LCD module and cases. The LCD module includes a display unit including LCD panel. The display unit includes the LCD panel, a data printed circuit board, a data tape carrier package, a gate printed circuit board, and a gate tape carrier package.

PURPOSE: A lamp driving device is provided to sense whether at least more than one lamp is not normally operated, and to quickly cut off power from being applied to normally operating lamps, thereby protecting the lamps. CONSTITUTION: A lamp assembly(200) consists of lamps(100) disposed in parallel and a power apply module(160) for connecting the lamps(100) in parallel. A base substrate(310) is faced with the lamp assembly(200). A lamp driving module(320) is mounted on the base substrate(310) to generate a lamp driving voltage. Perception sensors(330) are faced with each of the lamps(100), and output sensing signals by corresponding to operated states of the lamps(100). A voltage cutoff module(340) compares levels of each sensing signal with a preset reference signal level, and applies a voltage cutoff signal for cutting off the lamp driving voltage to the lamp driving module(320), if at least more than one sensing signal is less than the reference signal.

PURPOSE: A back light assembly and an LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) including the back light assembly are provided to reduce the size of the LCD. CONSTITUTION: A back light assembly(750) includes a bottom face having a reflecting face and an incident face connected to the reflecting face, a top face opposite to the bottom face, and sides connecting the bottom face and the top face to each other. The back light assembly includes a light guide plate(720) for guiding lights, and a lamp unit(750) that is disposed under the incident face and generates lights. An LCD includes an LCD panel(210), a display unit(200) including printed circuit boards(220,230) generating driving signals for driving the LCD panel, the back light assembly, and a housing for housing the back light assembly and the LCD panel.

PURPOSE: A flat display device is provided to stand an external impact by providing a protection sheet on its surface, also easily to remove the foreign material formed on the surface. CONSTITUTION: A flat display device(300) includes a flat display panel and a protection sheet(200). The flat display panel includes a pair of transparent substrates(102,112) facing to each other and a plurality of electrode formed between the transparent substrates(102,112), and it displays the image by switching the on/off of the pixels. The switching of the pixels are performed by changing the voltages applied to the electrodes formed between the transparent substrates(102,112). The protection sheet(200) is connected to the surface of the transparent substrates(102,112) for protecting the surface of the flat display panel from an external damage or a foreign material.

PURPOSE: A backlight assembly and a liquid crystal display device having the same are provided to improve the ununiform luminance distribution and prevent the deterioration of display quality caused by the concentration of dispersion of luminance, wherein the discoloration of the light emitted from lamps is prevented. CONSTITUTION: A backlight assembly includes a receiving container, lamps, a glass substrate(130) and a diffusion sheet(140). The receiving container receives the lamps, the glass substrate and the diffusion sheet, and has a first receiving frame and a bottom chassis. The diffusion sheet and the glass substrate are mounted to a top surface of a second plate of the first receiving frame. The glass substrate is not discolored by first light(121) emitted from the lamps in spite of the long term exposure. The diffusion sheet is formed of light diffusion beads mixed by adhesive binder and doped on both sides of a diffusion sheet body. The diffusion sheet converts the first light generated by the lamps to the diffused second light(122).

PURPOSE: A backlight assembly and a liquid crystal display device having the same are provided to prevent the center part of a diffusion plate from convexly swelling in spite of the expansion of the diffusion plate by the moisture or heat. CONSTITUTION: A backlight assembly includes a receiving container(480) formed with a shoulder part(485) on an inner wall to receive a diffusion plate(460). The shoulder part is apart from a side surface of the diffusion plate by a predetermined distance to prevent the center part of the diffusion plate from swelling by allowing the expansion of the diffusion plate when the diffusion plate absorbs moisture or heat. The receiving container further has first to fourth fixing protrusions(481-484) on first to fourth side walls(480a-480d) to fix the diffusion plate and prevent the movement of the diffusion plate by any impact.

PURPOSE: A back light assembly for a liquid crystal display is provided to simplify an arrangement structure of return wires connected with lamps by using a printed circuit board. CONSTITUTION: A reflective plate(100) is provided. A plurality of lamps(210,220,230,240) are arranged on the reflective plate. A plurality of first connectors(310,320) are connected with first electrodes of the lamps respectively through first wires(212,222,234,244) for providing first power voltage to the first electrodes. A plurality of second connectors(410,420) are provided to receive second power voltage. A printed circuit board includes a third connector(530) connected with the second connectors for receiving the second power voltage, and a fourth connector(610) outputting second power voltage inputted through the third connector. A fifth connector provides second power voltage via a third wire(535) connected with the second electrodes of the lamps.

PURPOSE: A cold cathode ray tube type lamp, a frame having the lamp and a liquid crystal display having the frame are provided to minimize power consumption of the lamp and improve luminance of the liquid crystal display. CONSTITUTION: A lamp includes a lamp tube(110), the first and second electrodes(125,130), and an electrode socket(120). The lamp tube contains gases used for generating light and a fluorescent material. The first electrode is extended from the outside of the lamp tube to the inside of the tube. The electrode socket is connected to the first electrode in a manner that the socket surrounds the lamp tube. The second electrode is formed on the outer face of the lamp tube and distant from the first electrode. The electrode socket and the first electrode are soldered by solder(127), and the second electrode is electroless-plated.

본 발명은 몰드프레임을 복수개로 분리하고, 분리된 소정의 몰드프레임 내측면에 PET 재질의 반사시트를 부착하고, 램프커버가 구비되지 않은 램프 어셈블리를 수납한다. 이후 램프 어셈블리가 수납된 소정의 몰드프레임을 분리된 몰드프레임에 체결함으로써, 몰드프레임이 액정표시모듈을 지지하고 수납하는 기능뿐만 아니라 램프를 보호하고 램프에서 발산되는 빛을 반사하는 램프 리플렉터의 기능을 수행한다. 그러면, 액정표시장치의 전체 부품수가 감소되므로 제조코스트가 절감되고 조립 및 수리공정이 간단해진다. 또한, 조립된 몰드프레임을 분리하면 램프 어셈블리가 액정표시장치에서 이탈되므로 램프의 교체가 용이하다.
