    Abstract: PURPOSE: A method for transmitting/receiving variable-length packets on the basis of an FEC(Forward Error Correction) coding system is provided to minimize transmit delay by creating a parity packet for a variable-length packet virtually connected to a 2-dimensional storage device without the process of padding and directly transmitting a data packet without the necessity of inputting all the packet groups associated for the creation of the parity packet.
