PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for combining both eyes type contents are provided to convert both eyes contents through the first both eyes type information converting unit so that the both eyes contents may be matched reference camera information, thereby constructing a normal scene. CONSTITUTION: A reference camera information setting unit(11) sets reference camera information. The information needs to convert the inputted both eyes type contents. The converted contents have the same camera information. The first both eyes type contents information converting unit(12) converts the both eyes type contents on the basis of the camera information set from the reference camera information setting unit(11). A scene construction unit(13) constructs the converted both eyes type contents by using both eyes type contents converted from the first both eyes type contents information converting unit(12).

PURPOSE: A system and a method for producing binocular multimedia contents are provided to combine a binocular technique with a multi-media contents producing system to produce a three-dimensional binocular multimedia contents. CONSTITUTION: A system for producing binocular multimedia contents includes a media input unit(11) for receiving media used for producing the multimedia contents, a media pre-processor(12) for pre-processing the received media, and a media editing unit(13) for constructing or editing a scene using the received media. The system further includes a media encoding unit(14) for encoding media that have not been encoded, and a binocular contents converter(15) for converting all of components of the scene into binocular contents form.
Abstract:
PURPOSE: A method for transmitting/receiving variable-length packets on the basis of an FEC(Forward Error Correction) coding system is provided to minimize transmit delay by creating a parity packet for a variable-length packet virtually connected to a 2-dimensional storage device without the process of padding and directly transmitting a data packet without the necessity of inputting all the packet groups associated for the creation of the parity packet. CONSTITUTION: If a data packet is inputted, a transmitting side accumulates the value of a factor that determines whether a parity packet is to be transmitted(S201), and connects the data packet to a 2-dimensional storage device virtually(S202). After updating a relevant parity packet every time a data packet is inputted, the transmitting side transmits an expanded data packet, containing a data packet and information for the restoration of the data packet, to a receiving side(S204). Then the transmitting side determines whether it is time to transmit parity packets(S205). In case that it is judged that it is time to transmit parity packets, the transmitting side determines the number of parity packets to be transmitted(S206). Then the transmitting side compares the number of transmitted parity packets with the determined number(S207). If the number of transmitted parity packets is smaller than or equal to the determined number, the transmitting part transmits expanded parity packets(S208) and accumulates the number of transmitted parity packets(S209).

PURPOSE: An apparatus for separating text region using geographic text characteristics information and a method therefor are provided to detect characteristic points of texts and collect the detected points. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus for separating text region using geographic text characteristics information includes a geographic text characteristics separator/candidate region separator(110) and a candidate region prover(120). The geographic text characteristics separator/candidate region separator(110) detects the geographic characteristics of text of an input image from outside and defines the candidate region. The candidate region prover(120) increases the size of the candidate region in the geographic text characteristics separator/candidate region separator(110) proves whether the region is a real text region.

PURPOSE: A transmitting method and an apparatus of stereoscopic image information are provided to offer various types of stereoscopic image services. PURPOSE: A device for providing a 3D service by interlinking a separately transmitted additional image with a reference image transmitted in real time and a method thereof are provided to form a high definition 3D service by inserting a signaling plan for a reference relation between two images and time information. The stream type information includes the information which directs a stereoscopic image service type. The device transmits image information with signaling table information and image data information(S120). The stream type information includes the stream type of supplementary image which comprises a service compatible stereoscopic image.

A mode prediction according to a direction of an intra predictive mode improving the coding efficiency and a quantification matrix and a scanning application and an application thereof are provided to improve the performance of coding by using a static pattern of DCT coefficients. An encoder predicts an optimum intra mode by determining directivity among nine intra modes. An intra prediction determines whether to directivity between an intra prediction mode of a current block and an intra prediction mode of an adjacent block. If the quantization matrix sharing within an encoder and a decoder and the suitable quantization matrix is selected according to the direct of intra-mode, this matrix is applied to the quantization process.
