본 발명의 일 측면에 따른 쿼드 트리 구조를 이용하는 영상 복호화 방법은 부호화 단위에서 통합 코드 블록 플래그 정보를 복호화 하는 단계와; 상기 통합 코드 블록 플래그 정보와 변환 단위의 크기 정보를 기초로 분할 정보 플래그를 복호화 하는 단계와; 상기 분할 정보 플래그를 기초로 상기 변환 단위가 추가로 분할되지 않는 경우 상기 변환 단위의 코드 블록 플래그 정보를 복호화 하는 단계를 포함하고, 상기 분할 정보 플래그를 복호화 하는 단계는 상기 변환 단위의 변환 계수가 존재하지 않는 경우, 상기 분할 정보 플래그를 복호화 하지 않을 수 있다. 따라서, 부/복호화 효율을 높이고 복잡도를 감소시킬 수 있다.

A method of decoding an image using a quadtree structure, according to one embodiment of the present invention, comprises the following steps: decoding unified code block flag information in an encoding unit; decoding a split information flag on the basis of the unified code block flag information and information on a size of a transform unit; and decoding code block flag information of the transform unit if it is determined that the transform unit does not split further on the basis of the split information flag, wherein the split information flag needs not be decoded if a transform coefficient of the transform unit does not exist in said step of decoding the split information flag. As a result, efficiency in encoding/decoding can be improved and complexity can be reduced.

PURPOSE: An image decoding method using a quad tree and storage media which are readable using a computer are provided to decode total code block flag information in a conversion stage and to decode division information flag based on total code block flag information and the size information in the conversion stage. PURPOSE: A video encoding/decoding device using an adaptive conversion encoding/decoding region based on characteristic of a differential signal and a method thereof are provided not to include a boundary region signal inside a converting and encoding block, thereby increasing energy compaction of a signal after converting and encoding. CONSTITUTION: A signal divider(131) divides a differential signal of an image block into a non boundary area signal and a boundary area signal. A converting and encoding unit(133) performs a DCT(Discrete Cosine Transform) of the non boundary area signal. A quantization unit(135) quantizes the DCT-converted non-boundary area signal in a frequency domain. A spatial area quantization unit(137) quantizes the boundary area signal in a space area.

A sensory effect media generating and consuming method and an apparatus thereof are provided to maximize a reproduction effect by receiving sensory effect information as to a sensory effect applied to a media and generating sensory effect metadata. A sensory media generating device(302) comprises an input unit(304), a sensory effect metadata generator(306), a transmitter(308) and a sensory media generator(310). The input unit receives sensory effect information as to the sensory effect applied to a media, and the sensory effect metadata generator generates sensory effect metadata which include the inputted sensory effect information. The transmitter transmits the sensory effect metadata to a user terminal, and the sensory media generator generates a sensory media by packaging the generated effect metadata and a media.

A system and a method for providing a customized broadcasting service based on an open interface are provided to request customized broadcasting processing easily only through the open interface provided by a network service provider, thereby enabling personalized broadcasting service providers to provide various new application services. An open service application server(103) comprises a first meta data parsing unit(209), a service request unit(210), a service transmitting unit(211), an application service generating unit(212) and a first meta data generating unit(213). The service request unit transmits a user request to an open service gateway(105) according to the parsing result of the first meta data parsing unit. The application service generating unit generating a customized application service based on information received through the service transmitting unit. The first meta data generating unit generates meta data based on the information generated by the application service generating unit. The open service gateway comprises a service request receiving unit(214), a service processing unit(215) and a service acquiring unit(216). The service processing unit analyzes the service received by the service request receiving unit, and transmits a service request to a head end(106) according to a request service.

PURPOSE: A method for generating summary of sports video based on visual characteristics is provided to generate summary of dynamic sports video by detecting main events defined according to summary rules using visual characteristics and selecting main areas based on each event. CONSTITUTION: A method for generating summary of sports video based on visual characteristics includes the steps of defining main events according to kinds of sports videos, defining visual characteristics for detecting the main events, defining a series of summary rules necessary for detecting main areas, and detecting the summary areas within the sports video by using the defined main events, visual characteristics and summary rules.
