Abstract: The present invention relates to a device and a method for reproducing a tactile sensation using the image processing, specifically, depth information of an image. Provided is a tactile sensation reproduction device for reproducing tactile sensation information by synchronizing with an image. The tactile sensation reproduction device comprises: a depth information acquisition module for receiving depth information on an image from the outside or extracting depth information on an image from the image; a depth information control module for analyzing the depth information acquired by the depth information acquisition module and generating a control command on tactile sensation information by synchronizing with a playback time of the image; and a tactile sensation information reproduction module for reproducing the tactile sensation information according to the control command on the tactile sensation information generated by the depth information control module. The device and the method according to the present invention can improve the blind′s understanding of a broadcast program by 3-dimensionally expressing the depth information. Furthermore, the depth information can be reproduced without performing the specific processing on the image as the depth information is usually used in the existing 3-dimensional broadcast. Also, even though the broadcast program does not provide the depth information, the depth information can be obtained and used through the simple image processing.
