Abstract: The present invention relates to an apparatus and a method for tracking a parking lot, comprising: a parking space recognizing unit for recognizing at least one parking space from a previous image frame which is photographed around a vehicle; a template generator for generating a template of a parking line of the recognized parking lot; a similarity calculating unit for comparing the template generated from the previous image frame and the parking line recognized from a current image frame to calculate the similarity; and a template correction unit for determining the position of the parking space based on the calculated similarity and for correcting the template based on the information about the parking line which is extracted from the determined position.
