Abstract: A power intermitting device of a propeller shaft is provided to prevent rotary power from being transmitted inversely from vehicle wheels contacted to the road through a transmission to an engine by dependently deciding the transmission of power according to on/off operations of a key switch by a coupling mechanism. A power intermitting device of a propeller shaft(16) is composed of a coupling mechanism installed at a connected portion between the propeller shaft and a rotary shaft(14) for transmitting driving power generated through an output shaft of a transmission to intermit the transmission of the power and a control mechanism for controlling an operation of the coupling mechanism to interlock with the starting of the engine. The coupling mechanism comprises a pressure chamber(18) formed at a combined part of a front end of the rotary shaft and the propeller shaft; plural movable pieces(20) arranged radially in the pressure chamber to move to the radial center; and a serration unit(16a) formed in the front end of the propeller shaft to combine with the movable piece by a slip joint method.

Abstract: PURPOSE: A parking brake apparatus of a vehicle is provided to always maintain optimum tension state and to improve safety of a vehicle by installing a tension control unit to automatically control tension of cables. CONSTITUTION: A parking brake apparatus of a vehicle has a cable tension control unit(100). The cable tension control unit comprises a tension control unit(40), a tension-sensing unit(50), an ECU(Electronic Control Unit), and a hydraulic supply unit(70). One side of the tension control unit is coupled with cables rod(20) connected with an equalizer, and the other side passes through a support bracket(31) coupled to the vehicle body and with the other side is coupled with the cable rod and controls tension of the loose cables. The tension-sensing unit is installed between the tension control unit and the support bracket and senses the tension state of the cables. The ECU analyzes the signals transmitted from the tension-sensing unit and a vehicle speed sensor(32) and decides the tension state of the cables.
