    Abstract: An inter-bank valve timing control system of a V6 engine for a vehicle and a method thereof are provided to protect an engine by automatically adjusting a valve timing between left and right valves to be simultaneously maintained. A method of controlling an inter-bank valve timing control system of a V6 engine for a vehicle includes the steps of turning on ignition of an engine(S101), reading a crank angle signal from a crank angle detection part(S102), determining a cam angle signal from a cam angle detection part(S103), and recognizing a cam default position of left and right banks by comparing the crank angle signals corresponding to a falling edge of the cam angle signal(S104), comparing the recognized cam default position and a design specification of the valve timing(S105), determining whether the cam default position is included in the design spec range(S106), and controlling a phase of the left and right banks by using a target phase control value(S108).
