Abstract: At least some aspects of the present disclosure feature a computing device configured to receive an input image of an environment having a plurality of physical notes. The computing device automatically processes the input image to identify at least some of the plurality of the physical notes in the input image and displays the input image and indications indicative of the identified physical notes on a user interface. The computing device receives a user input indicating a position within the input image via a user interface and, responsive to the user input, recognizes proximate to the position a missed one of the physical notes that was not identified by the computing device when initially processing the input image.

Abstract: To provide an apparatus, a system, and a program that can easily detect an image region where retroreflected light is recorded without being influenced by a neighboring object. In one embodiment, a measuring apparatus (1) includes an imaging unit (11), a converter (141) that converts first image data captured by the imaging unit using light emission for photography and second image data captured by the imaging unit without using the light emission for photography to luminance values, a differential processor (142) that calculates a difference between a first luminance value based on the first image data and a second luminance value based on the second image data for each pixel and generates an output image visually representing a region where the difference is present based on an obtained differential image, and a display unit (16) that displays the output image.

Abstract: Techniques for creating and manipulating software notes representative of physical notes are described. A computing device includes a processor, an image collection module executable by the processor and configured to receive an input image of an environment having a plurality of overlapping physical notes, and an image processing engine executable by the processor and configured to process the input image with the computing device to identify the plurality of overlapping physical notes in the input image. The image processing engine determines a boundary of each note in the plurality of overlapping physical notes in the input image, and generates a plurality of digital notes corresponding to the determined boundary of each of the overlapping physical notes identified in the input image.

Abstract: This disclosure describes techniques for creating and manipulating software notes representative of physical notes. For example, techniques are described for recognizing physical notes present within a physical environment, capturing information therefrom and creating corresponding digital representations of the physical notes, referred to herein as digital notes or software-based notes. At least some aspects of the present disclosure feature system and methods for note recognition using color classification. The system receives a visual representation of a scene having one or more notes, where each note has a color. The system generates indicators indicative of color classes of pixels in the visual representation. The system further determines a general boundary of one of the notes based on the indicators.

Abstract: Methods for generating stages for a portion of orthodontic aligner treatment for a digital 3D model of teeth in malocclusion. The methods generate a subset of stages of setups among a complete set of stages of setups for aligner treatment of the teeth. The subset of stages can be selected from a complete set of stages, based upon a target intermediate setup, or sequentially generated from one stage to the next in the subset. Aligners for the subset of stages of setups can then be manufactured without having to make a complete set of aligners. A method to generate a setup for the aligner treatment compares the digital 3D model of teeth in malocclusion to a plurality of setups for historical cases of teeth in malocclusion that have undergone aligner treatment.

Abstract: Methods for automatically removing collisions between digital mesh objects and moving digital mesh objects between spatial arrangements. The collisions are removed from a set of digital mesh objects using a perturbation method or a mesh deformation method. After removing the collisions, the digital mesh objects are output in a state without collisions between them. The digital mesh objects can be moved between initial and final states based upon motion constraints of the mesh objects and interpolated states of them between the initial and final states. Based upon the constraints and interpolated states, a number of states for movement of the set of digital mesh objects is determined either collectively for the set or individually for each mesh object. The states can be used as digital setups for dental or orthodontic treatment planning.

Abstract: Methods for tracking gum line changes by comparing digital 3D models of teeth and gingiva taken at different times. The digital 3D models are segmented to digitally identify the teeth from the gingiva, and the segmented digital 3D models are compared to detect gum line changes by determining differences between them relating to the gum line. Gum line changes can also be estimated by comparing one of the digital 3D models with a 3D model having a predicted original location of the gum line. Gum line change maps can be displayed to show the gum line changes determined through the tracking or estimating of changes. The digital 3D models can also be displayed w ith periodontal measurements placed upon them.

Abstract: The present disclosure includes in one instance an optical article comprising a data rich plurality of retroreflective elements that are configured in a spatially defined arrangement, where the plurality of retroreflective elements comprise retroreflective elements having at least two different retroreflective properties, and where data rich means information that is readily machine interpretable. The present disclosure also includes a system comprising the previously mentioned optical article, an optical system, and an inference engine for interpreting and classifying the plurality of retroreflective elements wherein the optical system feeds data to the inference engine.
