Abstract: Catalyst comprises a complex of a Group VIII metal other than nickel with a polydentate phosphonite ligand (I). An Independent claim is also included for a process for hydroformylating compounds containing at least one ethylenic double bond by reaction with carbon monoxide and hydrogen in the presence of a catalyst as above.
