Abstract: Metal-polyurethane-metal sandwich elements are produced by fixing the metal layers so as to form a space for the plastic, sealing off this space leaving filler opening(s) and other opening(s), checking the seal by measuring pressure differences at the openings, then filling the space with (a) isocyanates and (b) polymer-polyols. Production of composite elements with a layer structure comprising (i) 2-20 mm metal, (ii) 10-300 mm polyisocyanate-polyaddition product obtained by reacting (a) isocyanates with (b) polymer-polyols and (iii) 2-20 mm metal, involves fixing layers (i) and (iii) so as to form a space (R) for layer (ii), sealing off this space except for opening(s) for filling and other opening(s), and checking the seal by measuring pressure differences at the openings before filling the space with (a) and (b).

Abstract: Preparation of mixed polyols, comprises reacting a mixture of: (1) a cyclic ester with at least two ester groups; (2) recycled polyethylene terephthalate (rPET); and (3) an at least divalent alcohol of molecular weight below 1000 with a component containing at least one dicarboxylic acid and then reacting this reaction product with a 2-10C alkylene oxide(s). Preparation of mixed polyols comprises reacting a mixture of a cyclic ester with at least two ester groups, recycled polyethylene terephthalate (rPET) and an at least divalent alcohol of mol. wt. below 1000 with a component containing at least one dicarboxylic acid and then reacting this reaction product with a 2-10C alkylene oxide(s). Independent claims are included for: (1) the obtained mixed polyol; (2) a polyurethane prepolymer prepared from the polyol and its preparation; and (3) a composition for the preparation of an assembly foam comprising the prepolymer and a propellant.

Abstract: Polyol mixture for polyurethane foams comprises a polyester, two different polyols with ether bonds and an amino diol. Polyol mixture comprises: (a) a compound with at least one amino group and at least two hydroxy groups; (b) a compound with at least one ether bond and being free of amino groups and with 4-8C hydroxy groups; (c) a compound with at least one ether bond and being free of amino groups and with 3C hydroxy groups; and (d) a polyester with at least two hydroxy groups. Independent claims are included for a two-component agent for preparing polyurethane (PU) foams comprising the above polyol mixture and an isocyanate of average functionality at least two and also the obtained polyurethane foams.

Also claimed is (i) a process for the production of optionally cellular polyurethanes (PUR) by reacting polyisocyanates, polyol component (I) and optionally low-mol. wt. chain extenders and/or crosslinkers in presence of catalysts and optionally blowing agents and other additives etc.; (ii) isocyanate prepolymer for aerosol foam, obtained by reacting (I) with a polyisocyanate, preferably MDI; and (iii) aerosol foam obtained by foaming this prepolymer.
