    Abstract: A thermoplastic moulding material (I) comprises a mixt. of (A) 15-70 wt.% methyl methacrylate polymer obtd. from a mixt. of (A1) 80-93 wt.% methyl methacrylate and (A2) 7-20 wt.% acrylic acid 1-8C alkyl ester, with viscosity index 55-60 ml/g (0.5 wt.% soln. in dimethyl formamide at 23 degrees C); (B) 10-50 wt.% copolymer obtd. from a mixt. of (B1) 78-88 wt.% vinyl aromatic monomers (w.r.t. (B)) and (B2) 12-22 wt.% vinyl cyanide (w.r.t. (B)), with viscosity index 60-80 ml/g (0.5 wt.% soln. in dimethyl formamide at 23 degrees C); (C) 20-50 wt.% graft polymer obtd. from (C1) 50-80 wt.% monomer mixt. core comprising (C11) 50-100 wt.% 1,3-diene and (C12) 0-50 wt.% vinyl aromatic monomer, and (C2) 20-50 wt.% graft obtd. by polymerisation in the presence of (C1) of a mixt. comprising (C21) 40-100 wt.% (meth)acrylic acid 1-8C alkyl ester and (C22) 0-60 wt.% vinyl aromatic monomer, with mean particle size of (C) 40-500 nm; and (D) 0-20 wt.% standard additives (w.r.t. sum of (A)-(C)). The sum of (A)-(C) is 100 wt.% and the difference in break index between (C) and the mixt. of (A), (B) and opt. (D) is less than 0.005. Also claimed are (i) prepn. of (I) by compounding (A)-(D) at 200-300 degrees C; (ii) use of (I) for making moulded prods.; and (iii) moulded prods. made from (I).

Components (E) and (F) together make up not more than 25 wt% of the mixture. In (I), R = 1-8C alkyl or H, R' = 1-8C alkyl and n = 0, 1, 2 or 3. Also claimed are mouldings, semi- finished products and film obtained from these TMM.
