    Abstract: Thermoplastic moulding compsn. contains (A) 5-95 (wt.)% partly aromatic copolyamide, consisting of (al) 20-90% units derived from terephthalic acid and hexamethylene diamine, (A2) 0-50% units derived from epsilon-caprolactam and (A3) 0-80% units derived from adipic acid and hexamethylene diamine; (B) 5-95% polyphenylene ether; (C) 0-45% vinyl-aromatic polymer; and (D) 0-40% rubber to modify the impact strength. Specifically (B) is prepd. from (b1) 4.95-99.9% polyphenylene eyther, (b2) 0-90% vinylaromatic polymer and (b3) 0.05-10% of (b31) an alpha, beta-unsatd. dicarboxylic acid or its anhydride, (b32) a maleimide of formula (1): R1-3=H, alkyl, alkoxy, cycloalkyl, alkenyl, aryl, arylene or alkylene with 1-12 C; (b33) a monomer with a polymerisable double bond, contg. an amide gp., (b34) a monomer with a polymerisable double bond, contg. a lactam gp., and/or (b35) an ester or amide of an alpha, beta-unsatd. dicarboxylic acid. (b4) 0-80% other graft-active monomers and (b5) 0-20% free radical initiator.

    Abstract: Elastomeric thermoplastic molding materials contain (A) from 5 to 50 parts by volume of a partially or completely crystalline thermoplastic polymer having a melting point of above 160 DEG C., as a coherent phase, and (B) from 95 to 50 parts by volume of one or more crosslinked elastomeric polymers which are prepared by emulsion polymerization, are dispersed in the component A and have a glass transition temperature Tg of below -10 DEG C., the sum of A and B being 100 parts by volume, with the proviso that the mixture of A and B has a Vicat softening temperature, measured according to DIN 53,460, which is 5 DEG -40 DEG C. lower than that of the component A, with or without (C) effective amounts of conventional assistants.

    Abstract: Impact-resistant nylon molding materials contain A: a linear, thermoplastic nylon composed of radicals derived from terephthalic acid and isophthalic acid and alkanediamines of 4 to 10 carbon atoms, and B: from 50 to 60% by weight, based on A, of one or more copolymers of 1. from 50 to 80% by weight of ethylene, from 20 to 50% by weight of a primary or secondary C2-C8-alkyl ester of (meth)acrylic acid, and from 0.5 to 10% by weight of a monomer possessing an acidic functional group or a latent acidic functional group, or 2. from 70 to 98% by weight of a primary or secondary C2-C8-alkyl ester of (meth)acrylic acid, from 1 to 30% by weight of a monomer possessing an acidic functional group or a latent acidic functional group, and from 1 to 5% by weight of a monomer containing 2 or more olefinic double bonds in the molecule, the percentages stated in 1. and 2. summing to 100% in each case, and C: if required, effective amounts of additives.
