Abstract:
A pressure-sensitive adhesive, containing an aqueous polymer dispersion produced by emulsion polymerization, characterised in that the polymer contains monomers with a hydroxyl group or primary amino group (which are simply called hydrophilic monomers in the following) and the polymer can be obtained in that more than 70 wt.-% of the hydrophilic monomers are fed only when the polymerization mixture (a mixture of monomers and already produced polymer located in the polymerisation vessel) already contains more than 50 wt.-% of the total volume of monomers.
Abstract:
Disclosed herein are composite materials and methods for forming the same. In one embodiment, a composite material comprises a primer layer comprising a polyalkylenimine, and an active layer comprising a binder and a metal organic framework (MOF), wherein the MOF comprises a bidentate organic compound coordinated to a metal ion, and wherein the active layer forms a coating on the primer layer.
Abstract:
Method for coagulating an aqueous polymer dispersion, where the aqueous polymer dispersion comprises at least one polymer in dispersion in aqueous phase, and also comprises thermally expandable, thermoplastic microspheres, the polymer dispersion is coagulated by energy input, and the coagulated composition is delivered via an outlet aperture, preferably in the form of a nozzle.
Abstract:
The use of an aqueous Solution comprising at least one polyanion and at least one high molecular weight polyethyleneimine is described, for providing oxygen barrier properties to a polymer film. The polyanion is a polymer comprising acid groups neutralized with a base selected from the group consisting of inorganic bases and monovalent organic bases and having a weight average molecular weight of at least 10000 g/mol.
Abstract:
A description is given of a coated polymer film which can be produced by coating a polymer film with an aqueous composition containing (A) a polymer which is obtained by radical polymerization and consists, up to 10 to 80 percent by weight, of a compound selected from ethylenically unsaturated acid anhydrides and ethylenically unsaturated dicarboxylic acids of which the dicarboxylic acid groups can form an anhydride group, and (B) an alkanolamine with at least two hydroxyl groups. The coating imparts an oxygen barrier to the polymer film and can be used, in particular, for producing packaging.
Abstract:
A barrier coating, wherein a polymer layer having a thickness of at least 1 μm is applied to a support substrate selected from among polymer films, paper and paperboard and the polymer layer is composed of a copolymer which can be produced by ring-opening metathesis polymerization of (a) olefin monomers selected from among monocyclic olefin monomers having one or two endocyclic C-C double bonds and bicyclic olefin monomers having an endocyclic C‑C double bond and (b) polycyclic olefin monomers having at least two C-C double bonds, e.g. a copolymer of cyclooctene and dicyclopentadiene, is described.
