Abstract: PURPOSE:To enable simultaneous execution of an automatic focusing mode and a focusing position control mode by generating the distance signal to be a center of the distance to be searched and the signal for the distance range to be searched and matching the focus in accordance with the distance information obtd. from a subject within the range limited by the two signals. CONSTITUTION:The distance signal S1 of the center to be focused and searched from a device 1 for generating an approximate distance signal and the distance signal S2 to be focused and searched from a device 2 for generating a range signal are respectively added and subtracted in an adder circuit 3 and a subtractor circuit 4 from which an upper limit signal S3 and a lower limit signal S4 are fed to a window comparator circuit 5. The distance signal S5 obtd. in accordance with the subject is compared and the signal 6 is outputted to a gate circuit 6. A focusing correlation signal S7 is fed as a signal S8 via a gate circuit 6 to a peak holding circuit. The signal S5 is subjected to sample holding in a sample holding circuit 8 by the signal S9 subjected to the peak holding and a focusing signal 10 is oututted. The simultaneous execution of the automatic focusing mode and the focus control mode is thus made possible.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To simplify the universal head system and to attain cost-down by allowing the device to generate a signal in response to the amount of movement of an object, extracting a preset data in a storage means by using this signal as an address signal and controlling the universal head system. CONSTITUTION:In going forward the object 9 on a running path 8 by, e.g., 1m, the operator operates a pulse generating means 1 to generate a signal corresponding to the amount of movement of the object 9, e.g., 1 pulse signal. This pulse signal is counted by counters 3a, 3b, this counted signal becomes an address signal to ROMs 4a, 4b and is inputted to the ROMs 4a, 4b. The data of pan, tilt of universal heads 6a, 6b stored in advance at a position of the object 9 forwarded by 1m and the data of zoom, focus of image pickup devices 7a, 7b are read from the ROMs 4a, 4b and the said data are outputted respectively to driving devices 5a, 5b. Thus, the universal systems A, B are driven by the driving devices 5a, 5b according to the said data and directed to the position of the object 9 forwarded by 1m.
