Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To know the reason why a record medium where the image data are recorded in a file form and a size which cannot be reproduced by an image processor cannot reproduce the image data by deciding whether an image data file can be displayed in an image and then displaying the information accordant with the result of the decision. When the head marker is an SOI, the next marker is detected (S6). When the next marker is detected, it's decided whether the marker is used to a file that can be supported (S7). If the marker is not used to the said file, the marker cannot be reproduced even with a JPEG file and accordingly displayed as the incompatible format data together with a prescribed icon and the file name (513).
