    Abstract: PURPOSE:To preserve recorded information stably for a long period by reducing the intensity of a magnetic field to be impressed upon a medium from a magnetic field generating means or making it into zero while the information is not recorded on a magneto-optical recording medium capable of being overwritten. CONSTITUTION:The information is recorded on the magneto-optical recording medium 1 with magnetic films of two or more layers by irradiating it by a light beam 5 modulated according to a record signal from an external device. The magnetic field generating means 14 to impress the bias magnetic field of a prescribed direction upon a part to which the light beam 5 irradiates is installed at a position opposing to an optical head 4 as holding a disk 1 between, and at the position dislocated from the above-mentioned position by 180 deg. in the revolution direction of the disk 1, the magnetic field generating means 15 to impress the bias magnetic field in the direction opposite to the prescribed direction upon the disk 1 is installed. At the time of recording, both the magnetic field generating means 14, 15 operate, but since a control circuit 26 stops the operations of them after the recording is finished, the disappearance of the recorded information due to the influence of the magnetic field can be prevented.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To apply a necessary bias magnetic field with use of a small magnet and to miniaturize the whole of the title device by providing opening parts so that a bias magnetic field generating means can be placed close to a photo- electro-magnetic recording medium housed in the internal part of the device. CONSTITUTION:For a cartridge 23, an opening 21 for a first bias magnet 15 and an opening 22 for a second bias magnet 16 are respectively provided so that the first bias magnet 15 and the second bias magnet 16 can be placed close to a photo-electro-magnetic disk 12. When the cartridge 23 is loaded, the first and the second bias magnets 15 and 16, which are under an sheltered state, are moved to be inserted into the openings 21 and 22 for the bias magnets and stopped at a prescribed distance from the disk 12. Thus, a strong bias magnetic field can be generated even with the small bias magnet 15 and 16, and the device can be miniaturized.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To reduce the output load of an auxiliary magnetic field generation means and to efficiently switch an auxiliary magnetic field intensity by making the permanent magnet of an objective lens driving means generate the magnetic field in the same direction to the magnetic field impressed from the auxiliary magnetic field generation means at the time of deleting information in the light beam projected part of a magneto-optical recording medium. CONSTITUTION:A magneto-optical recorder has a driving means which includes the objective lens 5 focusing the light beam on the magneto-optical recording medium 1, the permanent magnet 9 and a coil 11 and drives the objective lens 5, at least, in one direction, and the magnet field generation means 6 which impresses the auxiliary magnetic field on the medium in the respective directions which are different at the time of recording information and at the time of deleting information and the permanent magnet 9 of the drive means is allowed to generate the magnetic field which has the same direction as the magnetic field impressed from the magnetic field generation means 6 at the time of deleting information in the light beam projected part of the medium 1. Thus the output load of the auxiliary magnetic field generation means 6 can be reduced and auxiliary magnetic field intensity can be efficiently switched at the time of recording information and at the time of deleting information.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To totalize kinds and positions of copied originals to copy quickly an original like a thick body by reading an identification mark in a prescribed position of the original in accordance with the change of the read position of this mark. CONSTITUTION:An original 1 like a thick book is set in a book cassette 2 on an original platen 5 so that an object surface (f) is turned upward. When a copy command switch is depressed, the original platen 5 is moved from the position indicated by solid lines to that indicated by alternate long and short dash lines. The light from a light source 8 reflected on the original 1 passes mirrors 9 and 9, etc., to form a latent image on a photosensitive drum 11. In this case, the distance between the object surface (f) of the original 1 and a distance measurer 7 is measured and is stored in a memory. Mirrors 91 and 92 are moved with time in accordance with the distance corresponding to the in-focus state between the measurer 7 and the mirror 91. Mirrors 91 and 92 are moved at low acceleration in the center part of the original 1 to copy the original like a thick book with a uniform distinction.

That is, a distance measuring device 7 is fixed to an end of a U-shaped arm 50, and a contact piece 53 which is in contact with a book cassette 2 is attached to another end. The arm 50 moves guided by a guide 51 fixed to the body of the copying device, and moves the distance measuring device 7 positioned right above a reference line 40 and between the book cassette 2 and an illuminating lamp 8 in the direction parallel to the referenceplane of image forming Yk of the book cassette 2 and perpendicular to the reference line 40, and the distance measuring device 7 is moved by a guide section 20a by the amount corresponding to each size.
