Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a liquid composition capable of easily cleaning and removing a scorch on a heater formed during a long-term use of an ink jet recording head or a contaminant formed in the production of an ink jet recording head, and to provide a method for cleaning an ink jet recording head using the same and a method for regenerating an ink jet recording head, thereby to improve the life of the recording head, and to provide an ink jet recording device capable of stably forming an image for a long period of time. SOLUTION: The liquid composition comprises at least one cleaning agent in an effective amount for cleaning a cleaning part of an ink jet recording head, where the cleaning agent comprises an organic acid, a salt of an organic acid, an organic acid ester and a salt of an organic acid ester. Also are provided a cleaning method of an ink jet recording head, an ink jet recording device, an ink cartridge, and a method for regenerating an ink jet recording head.

As the result of using, as the colorant, an ionic self-dispersible carbon black having at least one kind of hydrophilic group bonded to the surface thereof directly or through other groups of atoms, a dispersant for dispersing the carbon black is not necessary. The humectant used has a structure represented by the formula (wherein m and n are each 1-5). The ink contains 0.1-15wt.% colorant and 1-30wt.% humectant.
