Abstract:
Disclosed is an aqueous ink containing water, a plurality of water-soluble organic solvents and a colorant. The colorant is composed of a pigment, and at least one ionic group is bonded to the surface of a pigment particle directly or via an other atomic group. The water-soluble organic solvents contain a good solvent and a poor solvent for the pigment. The poor solvent does not solvate the pigment at all or does not substantially solvate the pigment. The ionic group is not dissociated at all or is not substantially dissociated in the poor solvent. Furthermore, a poor solvent has the largest Ka value, which is determined by the Bristow method, among the water-soluble organic solvents.
Abstract:
A light ink-jet ink which has excellent coloring properties and can combine resistance to environmental gases with freedom from bronzing. The light ink-jet ink is used in combination with a deep ink-jet ink having a relatively high colorant content, and comprises water, a water-soluble organic solvent, and a colorant. The light ink-jet ink is characterized in that the deep ink-jet ink and the light ink-jet ink satisfy a specific requirement.

Provided is a black ink capable of mitigating the dependency on image quality of recording media and giving a high quality image stably, which comprises at least one salt selected from the group consisting of (M1) 2 SO 4 , CH 3 COO(M1), Ph_COO(M1), (M1)NO 3 , (M1)Cl, (M1)Br, (M1)I, (M1) 2 SO 3 and (M1) 2 CO 3 , where M1 is an alkali metal, ammonium or organo-ammonium and Ph is a phenyl group, and a self dispersible carbon black.

An ink set includes inks each containing a colorant and an aqueous medium, wherein in a fading test under conditions that cause fading corresponding to pseudo-indoor sunlight fading through a window for 3 years or more, the difference between respective images' ”E, the images being produced with the respective inks, is 10 or less in a CIELAB color space display system, and each of the images has a residual ratio of reflection density of 70% or more. By using the ink set including the color inks with which images having substantially the same fading ”E after long-term storage are produced, the color balance of a recorded image can be maintained after long-term storage.

An ink set which comprises a black ink containing an aqueous medium and a pigment dispersed in the aqueous medium by an action of an ionic group, and at least two color inks each containing a coloring material and an aqueous medium, wherein (i) respective images formed with the respective color inks have the same DELTA E or have the difference in DELTA E that is 10 or less in a CIELAB color space display system in a fading test under conditions that cause fading corresponding to pseudo-indoor sunlight fading through a window for 3 years or more, and (ii) at least one of the color inks contains at least one of a coloring material and an additive that destabilize dispersion stability of the pigment in the black ink. The ink set can provide a high quality multicolor image keeping color balance after long preservation and showing less bleeding between black and color regions.

Conjunto de tintas que comprende una tinta negra que contiene un medio acuoso y un pigmento dispersado en el medio acuoso mediante la acción de un grupo iónico y, por lo menos, tres tintas de color conteniendo cada una de ellas un material colorante y un medio acuoso, en las cuales, (i) las respectivas imágenes formadas con las respectivas tintas de color tienen el mismo AE o tienen una diferencia en AE que es de 10 o menos en un sistema de indicación de un espacio de color CIELAB, siendo AE la diferencia entre la imagen inicial y la imagen después de un ensayo de decoloración bajo condiciones que producen una decoloración correspondiente a una decoloración pseudo-interior por luz solar a través de una ventana, durante 3 años o más, en la que las condiciones del ensayo de decoloración son de acuerdo con la norma ISO 10977, y (ii) por lo menos, una de las tintas de color contiene, por lo menos, un material colorante y un aditivo que desestabiliza la estabilidad de la dispersión del pigmentoen la tinta negra.

Also, among the respective Ka values of the plurality of water-soluble organic solvents as determined by the Bristow method, the Ka value of the poor medium is maximum.
