Abstract: PURPOSE:To enable rereception to perform efficient and quick communication between the transmission side and the reception side by transmitting a reception abnormality signal to a terminal of the other party at the time of detecting that the original received from the terminal of the other party cannot be confirmed. CONSTITUTION:Picture information from the terminal of the other party is decoded by an encoding/decoding part 9, and simultaneously, the picture quality is discriminated. When the picture quality is within a discrimination reference range, a CPU 1 starts an OCR recognizing part 8. The OCR recognizing part 8 distinguishes an ordinary original and an OCR original from each other and performs the pattern recognition processing in case of the OCR original. When the original can be recognized as the result of the pattern recognition processing, the CPU 1 instructs a communication circuit control part 10 to transmit a reception normalcy signal; but when it cannot be recognized, the CPU 1 instructs the part 10 to transmit the reception abnormality signal.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To shorten the exclusive time of an output device by providing plural communication modes whose communication speed is different from each other, and making the output of image data to an output means different in accordance with the communication mode and an accumulation state of an accumulating means. CONSTITUTION:When the generation of a receiving service is informed from each communication adaptor, a control part 1 executes a management of a page unit to an image memory 4 and starts accumulating. Subsequently, a G4 reception processing routine and a G3 reception processing routine are executed alternately, and an image output processing to a printer generated in the inside of the reception processing is random as the priority. When an image output device 5 is usable, whether an output service request exists or not is monitored, and if the request exists, the image output device 5 is used exclusively, the received service request is released, and an accumulated image is outputted. At the time point of the output of one communication is completed, the exclusive possession of the image output device 5 is released. In such a way, the exclusive time can be shortened and the equipment can be used efficiently.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To distinguish recording pictures of each communication comparatively easily by printing out a received page from a high speed line immediately after the reception and printing out the page received from a low speed line after a prescribed number of pages only is finished for storage in a picture memory. CONSTITUTION:A controller 1 prints out the page received from a high speed line immediately after the reception and prints out the page received from a low speed line after the said facsimile picture signal is finished for storage in the picture memory for the prescribed number of pages. That is, when the occurrence of the reception service from each communication adaptor is informed, the control section 1 manages the picture memory 4 in the unit of pages to store the received pages. The output service request takes place at a point of time when it is informed that the G4 reception service takes place. In case of the G3 reception, the output request is generated at the end of storage of designated page number or at the end of communication.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the size of an image forming device without providing a special mechanism on a recording paper cassette to detect the size of recording paper. SOLUTION: A facsimile device has an optical register sensor 109, and the register sensor 109 is shielded up to a position (tip detection position) where a tip position of recording paper which is conveyed reaches an actuator of the register sensor 109. Furthermore, when a rear end of recording paper comes to a position (rear end detection position) where it passes over the actuator of the register sensor 109, the register sensor 109 is shielded again due to self-weigh of the actuator. When printing data is transferred into a recording part and the printing operation is started, the time up to the time when the rear end of recording paper passes the actuator of the register sensor 109 is measured to compare the measured time with a set value. As a result of the comparison, when a difference between them is within a specified scope, it is judged that recording paper is the same paper as that stored, and when the difference is beyond the specified scope, it is judged that the size of recording paper does not agree with that of recording paper stored. If the rear end of recording paper is not detected even when a predetermined period of time elapses, it is judged that an error such as jamming occurs.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To allow a receiver side operator to recognize the presence of an error by applying a prescribed processing to an error line of a received picture, displaying the presence of the error as a message and outputting the result or sending it to a destination station as a relay station. CONSTITUTION:A communicated control unit 9 the codes the received data to detect an error line, and performs error line and total line count to discriminate the received result (OK/NG) and stores the result to a picture memory 8 while eliminating the error line. Then the priority of the result of reception of one page is discriminated, and when the result is NG, a character generator 7 adds a message of 'part of this page is missing' to the picture data and the resulting picture is outputted. The message representing the presence of the error is added in this way to avoid the confusion of the receiver side.
