    Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide an optical recording method enabling optical writing by small- sized light wt. semiconductive layer, by irradiating an optical recording medium with infrared rays with a wavelength of 800-900nm corresponding to recording information and discoloring the irradiated part of a recording layer. CONSTITUTION:An optical recording medium having a recording layer containing a polydiacetylene derivative compound and at least one or more of a dye selected from a pyrylium dye, a thiopyrylium dye and a selenapyrylium dye is irradiated with infrared rays with a wavelength of 800-900nm corresponding to recording information and the irradiated part of a recording layer is discolored. For example, 1pts.wt. of a crystalline fine powder of the diacetylene derivative compound represented by general formula C12H25-CidenticalCidenticalC-C8H16-COOH and 1pts.wt. of the pyrylium dye are added to 4pts.wt. of methylene chloride and the resulting mixture is sufficiently stirred and applied to a substrate to form the optical recording medium 1. This optical recording medium 1 is uniformly and sufficiently irradiated with ultraviolet rays with a wavelength of 254nm to polymerize the DA compound in the recording layer to convert the recording layer to a blue film and, thereafter, when the surface of the blue optical recording medium is irradiated with laser beam of 830nm, the irradiated part is discolored to red to perform a desired recording.

UV rays are irradiated on such optical recording medium, then 800-850nm IR rays are irradiated thereon according to recording information to discolor the irradiated part of the recording layer. The recording information is read by irradiating 500-750nm visible light to the recording layer.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain an optical recording medium capable of optical writing with semiconductor laser, by a method wherein a layer containing a diacetylene derivative compound is laminated on a layer containing at least one among a pyrylium dye, a thiopyrylium dye, and a selenapyrylium dye. CONSTITUTION:A DA compound of diacetylene derivative compound in use is a compound or polymer shown by a formula (I). On the other hand, a pyrylium dye, a thiopyrylium dye, or a selenapyrylium dye is a compound shown by a structural formula (II) which has an absorption peak at 780-900nm and heats by irradiation of an infrared ray of this wave length. In the formulas; R and R are polar groups, X designates an oxygen atom, a sulfur atom, or a selenium atom, R , R , and R designate various organic residues, and A designates an anion. An optical recording medium consists of a substrate 1 and a recording layer 2. The recording layer 2 is so constructed as to laminate on the substrate 1 successively a layer 3 containing a pyrylium dye group and a layer 4 containing the DA compound. In this construction, the recording medium enables a recording of high-density and high-resolving power.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide a high-density high-sensitivity recording medium, by laminating a layer comprising a monomolecular film of a diacetylene derivative compound or a built-up film thereof and layer comprising an azulenium salt compound. CONSTITUTION:A diacetylene derivative compound is dissolved in a solvent such as chloroform, and the resultant solution is developed on an aqueous phase 10 to form a film. Next, a partition plate 3 is provided to restrict the developing area, thereby obtaining a desired surface pressure pi. While maintaining the surface pressure, a clean carrier (base) 11 is slowly moved up and down, where by a monomolecular film of the diacetylene derivative compound is transferred onto the carrier (base) 11. A layer B, or radiation-absorbing layer, consists of an azulenium salt compound, and may be prepared by the LB method, a spinner rotary coating method, a roller coating method, a pulling coating method, sputtering, plasma polymerization or the like. When the colorless trans parent recording layer 15 is irradiated with UV rays, the diacetylene derivative compound is polymerized to be polydiacetylene derivative compound, accompa nied by a color turning to blue.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To measure light absorbance characteristics with high precision and high sensitivity by generating two light beams which have mutually symmetrical directional components to be compensated for the variation of beam light due to the variation of a probe light source. CONSTITUTION:Exciting light 111 emitted by an exciting light source 110 is intensity- modulated by a chopper 112 to illuminate a measurement point of a thin film 104 on a liquid surface 103 from below, and then reflected totally by the liquid surface 103. A light beam 8a from the probe light source 7, on the other hand, is split into two by an optical system such as a beam splitter 19 and put together into one light beam 8e again, and the beam is passed right under the liquid surface 103. When this light beam 8e passes through an area which varies in reflective index when irradiated with the exciting light 11, the optical path is deflected and detected by the position sensing detector (PSD) of a light position detector 107. At this time, when the light beam 8e shifts to light beams 8c' and 8d' owing to the variation of the light source 7, they moves in mutually symmetrical directions on the light receiving surface of the detector 107, which outputs a value corresponding to the absorption of a sample on the measurement principle of the PSD, thus removing the influence of the light source variation.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To compensate the shear of an optical beam and to fix the center of the intensity of irradiated beams always constantly by varying two optical beams passed through the 1st and 2nd optical systems to two adjacent optical beams by the 3rd optical system to irradiate the two adjacent optical beams to an objective irradiating surface. CONSTITUTION:An optical beam 8a emitted from a light source 1 is divided into two optical beams 8c, 8d, one optical beam 8d is passed through an image rotator 3, converted into two adjacent optical beams together with the other optical beam 8c through a mirror 4 and a half mirror 5 and the two adjacent optical beams are irradiated to the objective irradiating surface 7 through a lens 6. Consequently, the light source varying component along the dividing direction of the beam splitter 2 is removed, but the light source varying component in the rectangular direction is not influenced by the beam splitter 2. The varying direction of the varied optical beam 8d' is inverted by the image rotator 3 on the basis of the inversion of the optical beam passing position to compensate the shear of the optical beam and both the components are synthesized, so that the shear of the optical beam can be compensated.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To compensate the shear of an optical beam and to fix the center of the intensity of irradiated beams always constantly by arranging the 3rd optical system for varying one optical beams out of two in the reverse direction to the vertical variation of the optical beam. CONSTITUTION:An optical beam 6a radiated from a light source 1 is divided into two optical beams 6c, 6d by a beam splitter 2 and one optical beam 6d is passed through an image rotator 3 and irradiated to an objective irradiating surface 5 through a lens 4 together with the other optical beam 6c. The image rotator 3 inverts an optical beam passing position in a direction rectangular to the dividing direction of the beam splitter 2. Namely, a light source varying component along the dividing direction of the beam splitter 2 is removed, but a light source varying component in the rectangular direction is not influenced by the beam splitter 2. Thereby, the varying direction of the varied optical beam 6d' is inverted by the image rotator 3 on the basis of the inversion of the optical beam passing position to compensate the shear of the optical beam.

Light signals 12 and heat signals 13 corresponding to information are simultaneously input into the predetermined portions on the image forming layer 3 of the image forming element 10 with a heat-light inputting means 11 to cause phase transition of the org. compd. molecule having phase transition properties for softening and, at the same time, to cause a photochemical change of the functional molecule, thereby forming an image.
