    Abstract: PURPOSE:To stably form a bright recorded image of a high resolution by impressing cleaning voltage forcedly tranferring developer on a recording electrode to a cylindrical electrode to an electrodes facing part during non recording time. CONSTITUTION:This recorder is provided with a developer carrier member 14, a devel oper carrying means Uw carrying developer (d) along the surface of the former, the multiple number of recording electrodes 20a installed side by side retaining electrical insulation with each other on the surface of the developer carrier member 14 at the specified intervals, the cylindrical electrode 5 installed facing the former at a specified interval, and a recording electrode driving means 21 impressing recording voltage responding to the recording information on each recording electrode 20a. Furthermore, a bias power source 5a impressing bias voltage to the cylindrical electrode 5, and a voltage control means C controlling recording voltage and the bias voltage are provided and the cleaning voltage forcedly transferring the developer (d) on the record ing electrode 20a side to the cylindrical electrode 5 at the non recording time is im pressed on the recording electrode 20a by the voltage control means C. Thus, normal paper can be utilized and a bright image of the high resolution can also be obtained.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To eliminate the need for a mechanically rotary mechanism by forming a progressive wave magnetic field progressing along the outer periphery of a sleeve by means of the specific energization to a coil part, and carrying a magnetic powders. CONSTITUTION:A coil roll R is inserted and fixed inside the sleeve 2. In the coil roll R, plural recessed part grooves 3a are extended/formed in parallel along a shaft direction at a constant interval on the periphery of a base roller 3 formed with a magnetic material and a conductor 4a is buried into the recessed part 3a and laid to form a coil part 4. Then, the coil part 4 is divided into (m) groups, the coil parts 4 of respective groups are disposed on every other (m-1)pieces, and an alternating current whose magnetic pole direction is sequentially reversed is energized. The alternating current having the deviation of a phase at every pi/m is sequentially applied to adjacent (m) coil parts 4 which belong to different groups in the order of arrangement. The progressive wave magnetic field progressing along the outer periphery of the sleeve 2 is formed, and the magnetic powders (dt) are carried. Thus, the magnetic powders (dt) can be carried without using a rotary mechanism.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a developer maintaining high transfer efficiency and image density over a long period of time and stably giving high quality images and to perform an image forming method using the developer by incorporating prescribed percentages of a toner, hydrophobic silica particles and fine powder of a prescribed acrylic polymer. CONSTITUTION:A developer contg. prescriber percentages of a toner, hydrophobic silica particles and powder of an acrylic polymer having a lower rate of triboelectric charge than the silica particles and a lower electric resistance than the toner is obtd. and used when images are formed by reapeating an image forming process composed of a prescribed electrostatic charging stage, a prescribed electrostatic latent image forming stage, a prescribed developing stage and a prescribed transferring stage without cleaning the surface of an image support after the transferring stage. The developer can maintain about 100% transfer efficiency and image density over a long period of time and stably gives high quality images free from after image. Images can be formed with the developer without requiring cleaning.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide a small-sized recorder which stably records and transfers a satisfactory picture onto a regular paper at a low potential by mixing developer with separation accelerating agent which improves separability from the surface of developer carrier. CONSTITUTION:The separation of toner from the surface of the developer carrier is speeded up by mixing separation accelerating agent with toner and by interposing it between the surface of a dielectric belt 1 and the toner. As the separation accelerating agent substance attached to the outside of toner, silica grains are preferable. Since surface free energy is minimized by the substitution of hydrophilic group by hydrophobic group, highly hydrophobic silica grains are used. Required image density can be obtained with a sufficient toner transfer gap secured, by appropriately setting the attachment rate to the the outside of toner of hydrophobic silica grains. When about 0.8% hydrophobic silica grains are added into the developer, the highest picture density can be obtained at a low recording voltage of about -230 V.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink jet printer having a line head capable of executing multi-valued area gradation in full-color by dot and eliminating clogging in a simple structure. SOLUTION: In a pair of electrode patterns which are stacked on a lower substrate of a print head 2 and are provided for forming one dot of an ink drop, each of C ink, M ink and Y ink is held by a respective one of waiting sections 17 (17a, 17b, 17c) of hydrophilic regions partitioned by partition walls 25. Cutting electrodes 12-1 (12-1y,..., 12-4y,..., 12-3m,..., 12-2c, 12-3c,...) having different sizes which are connected thereto cut ink drops 24-3m, 24-2m,... having different sizes from the respective waiting sections 17. A mixture electrode 13 collects the ink drops to a front section to mix them, then the ink drops are collected to a drop collecting/accelerating electrode 14 to become one dot of an ink drop. The ink drop is accelerated by three accelerating electrodes 15a, 15b, 15c and is ejected on a recording paper from an ejection nozzle 8.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermal transfer image forming apparatus regenerating a uniform toner particle layer on the surface of a toner carrier by an inexpensive device. SOLUTION: The toner coating device 14 of an apparatus main body is equipped with a housing 8, the elastic roller 17 arranged to the opening part thereof and a blade 19 and toner T is housed in an internal space. A toner carrying film 13 comes into slide contact with the rear surface of a thermal head at an upper central part and the right end thereof is supported from its rear surface by a feed roller and the left end thereof is pressed to an elastic roller 17 by a feed roller 15. The elastic roller 17 receives toner T prescribed to constant thickness by a blade 19 on its surface to be rotated and fed. The peripheral surface of the elastic roller 17 is flexibly formed and the hardness thereof is higher than that of the toner carrying surface of a toner carrier. By this constitution, the elastic roller 17 transfers the toner T to the toner carrying film 13 by the difference of Van der Waals force to uniformly coat the film.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To stably record a high-density recording image without a decrease in the resolution. CONSTITUTION:An electrostatic recorder is provided with a first power source and a second power source 19. The first power source applies voltages to an electrode EL' to form a recording image after developer is transferred to a counter electrode 6. The second power source 19 applies voltages to the recording electrode EL corresponding to recording information during a partial period of one writing cycle, and transfers the developer to the counter electrode 6 selectively to form a recording image on toner that is transferred on to the whole face in the main scanning direction of the counter electrode 6 by the action of the first power source. The second power source 19 imposes recovery voltages to the recording electrode EL during the remaining period of one writing cycle to recover a portion of the toner by the recording electrode.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide an electrostatic recording apparatus which can stably form a recording image with smooth density gradation characteristics even though a developer is carried by rotating a magnetic roll. CONSTITUTION:A magnetic roll 16 is built rotatably in a developing sleeve 15. A step difference G is formed on a part being close to the peripheral surface of a cylindrical electrode 5 on the peripheral surface of the developing sleeve 15 and a recording electrode sheet 17 is clad on the peripheral surface on the upstream side from the step difference to the toner carrying direction. A magnetic sensor 18 detecting arrangement of magnetic poles on the peripheral surface of the magnetic roll 16 is placed and a recording control part C changes the pulse width of a pulse voltage based on a detected signal of the magnetic sensor 18 to obtain a recording image provided with density gradation within the time where the magnetic roll 16 rotates from a magnetic arrangement wherein ears of a magnetic toner (d) on the magnetic electrode EL are stood vertically to the peripheral surface of the cylindrical electrode to a magnetic arrangement wherein they are laid down in parallel.
