Abstract:
An oral care composition and methods for preparing the oral care composition are disclosed. The oral care composition may include a carrier and a structure-building agent. The carrier may be present in an amount of from about 0.01 wt% to about 99 wt%. The structure- building agent includes a polyvinyl capralactam-polyvinyl acetate- polyethylene glycol graft copolymers (PCA-PVA-PEG), and may be present in an amount of from about 0.01 wt% to about 60 wt%, based on a total weight of the oral care composition.
Abstract:
The invention provides packages for storing and dispensing multi-component tooth whitening formulations, wherein the contents of the separate components are mixed just prior to use. Particular multi-component tooth whitening formulations using this principle and methods of use thereof are also provided.
Abstract:
Provided is a tooth whitening system, including at least one whitening agent disposed in a first storage chamber, and least one bleach activator disposed in a second storage chamber.
Abstract:
Described herein are packages for storing and dispensing multi-part tooth whitening formulations, wherein the contents of the parts are mixed, a peracid and/or dioxirane whitening agent is formed. Particular multi-part tooth whitening formulations using this principle and methods of use thereof are also provided.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a composite and oral care compositions for use in the mouth to retard the accumulation of dental plaque and/or calculus. The composite is a microaggregate comprising polymer coated, surfactant stabilized particles of a substantially insoluble metal, metal salt or metal oxide, for example zinc oxide. Also methods for retarding the accumulation of dental plaque and/or calculus are provided.
Abstract:
An oral care composition for treating or preventing calculus comprising an anticalculus agent and an antibacterial agent comprising a biphenol compound obtainable from Magnolia officinalis , wherein the composition is free of phosphate-containing anticalculus agents.
Abstract:
Disclosed herein are methods of enhancing the solubility and delivery of one or more active ingredients found in magnolia extract, or a synthetic analogue thereof, in an oral composition.
Abstract:
An oral care implement includes a handle, a head mounted to one end of the handle that includes a first face having plurality of tooth cleaning elements extending therefrom and a second face, a store of dentifrice retained at the head, and a film matrix retained at the head containing at least one rapidly releasable agent. A soft tissue cleaner can be included on the second face. The at least one rapidly releasable agent can be provided to the first and/ or second faces during use from the film matrix. In addition, dentifrice can be provided to the first and/ or second faces during use from the store of dentifrice. The at least one rapidly releasable agent can include, for example, a flavoring agent, a dentifrice, or a therapeutic agent. The toothbrush can be small in size and lightweight so as to be readily portable for use away from the home.
Abstract:
A composition comprising a film or a plurality of film fragments entrained in a carrier. The film or plurality of film fragments can comprise a functional material. The film or plurality of film fragments can comprise repeated shapes. Also disclosed is a composition comprising a plurality of discernable lamellar fragments entrained in a carrier. Also disclosed is a method for administering a functional material to a human or animal subject in need thereof, the method comprising applying to the subject a composition comprising a film or a plurality of film fragments entrained in a carrier, wherein the film comprises the functional material. The composition is preferably a dentifrice, containing shaped and/or coloured film fragments.
