Abstract: The present invention relates to organosiloxaneamine copolycondensates as statistical or block copolycondensates or mixtures thereof of groups (I) (I) and X - R4 (II) (II) R1 to R4 is (III) and R5 is bonded directly to the nitrogen atom or to the two linked radical X and is an alkylene group, a cycloalkylene group or wherein n is 1 to 6 and m is 0 to 6. The free valences of the oxygen atoms that are bound to the silicon atom are saturated by silicon atoms of further groups of formula (III) optionally with the incorporation of cross-linking agents. X stands for -NH2, -NH-(CH2)2-NH2, -NH-(CH2)2-NH-(CH2)2-NH2, -Cl, -Br, -J, -SH, -P(C6H5)2, wherein R" is H or an alkyl group. In addition, production methods and the use of the product for the removal of dissolved metals from solutions or for the absorption of organic solvents are described.

Abstract: The present invention describes aminoalkyl-substituted organopolysiloxane thioureas consisting of units (I) wherein R1 stands for a group R5 stands for an alkylene grouping, R2 equals R1 or H, R3 equals R1 or H or a group (CH2)n-NR2 (III) in which n equals 1 to 6, R6 equals H or an alkyl group with C1 to C5, and R4 equals H or a group of Formula (III), wherein (I) contains at most two groups (II) and at most two groups (III) and the free valences of the oxygen atoms at the silicon atoms are saturated by silicon atoms of additional groups (II), optionally with the incorporation of cross-linking agents that contain Si, Ti, or Zr. The compounds can be statistical copolycondensates, block copolycondensates, or mixed copolycondensates with reference to the optionally present cross-linking agents. In addition, various production processes for the compounds are described. The compounds can be used, in particular, to remove dissolved metals from aqueous or organic phases.

Abstract: The present invention relates to spherical polymer tertiary or secondary organosiloxaneamine compounds of units (I) in which R1 and R stand for a group (II) wherein R4 is an alkylene group and the oxygen atoms are saturated by additional groups (II), optionally with the incorporation of cross-linking agents, R3 equals R1 and R or stands for a hydrogen, an alkyl, cycloalkyl, or the benzyl group. Further objects of the present invention are a process for producing the compounds in spherical form as well as the use of these products for the removal of acids from liquids and gases, and for the adsorption of gaseous organic compounds.

Abstract: A method is disclosed for the semi-continuous melting of ceramic material by means of inductive melting in high-frequency and medium-frequency induction melting furnaces whose melting coil surrounds a sintering crust crucible and contains a run-out channel. In tile method, melt is periodically run out and material to be melted is supplied to the crucible so as to replace the material removed preferably so as to maintain a constant level. An intensively cooled channel is used as a run-out device. For the melt broaching, the melt nose is grasped from below by way of an automatically controllable broaching lance of a broaching device and raised. The broaching lance is then advanced between the bottom of the channel and the solidified melt until the sintering crust is pierced. The method permits a reliable and economic management of the process and the maintenance of the quality of the melted products. A device for periodic melt broaching as well as an induction melting furnace equipped with an intensively coolable run-out channel provides apparatus for carrying out the above method.

Abstract: The invention relates to monoclinic zirconium oxide having an SiO2 content of less than 1% by weight, which is characterised by dendrite-shaped particles having a mean grain size (d50 value) in the range from 0.5 mu m to 3.0 mu m and a specific surface area (BET) in the range from 3 to 15 m /g. The zirconium oxide is prepared by thermal cracking of zirconium silicate in a high-frequency or medium-frequency inductive fusion furnace with a sinter crust crucible, quenching of the melt by blowing air onto a melt jet and/or spraying the latter with water and leaching the thermally cracked zirconium silicate with concentrated alkali metal hydroxide solution at 100 to 200 DEG C. The zirconium oxides according to the invention is distinguished from prior zirconium oxide by its improved suitability for the production of zirconium silicate colouring materials of the host lattice and inclusion types - pigments of higher colour intensity are obtained.

Abstract: New organopolysiloxanes contain units of formula (I), R1 is -CH2CH2- or CH3-CH-; x is 1-4, depending on M; M is H, a 1-4 valent metal ion or NH4. Free valencies of the O atom may be satd. by Si atoms of further gps. of formula (I) and/or by crosslinking bridging gps. of formula MO4/2, R'MO3/2, (R')2MO2/2, AlO3/2 or R'AlO2/2 and/or by unsulphonated phenylene units of formula (II), M is Si, Ti or Zr; R' is Me or Et. Ratio of the sum of Si in (I) and (II): Si, Ti, Zr and Al in the bridging gps. is 1:0-15. When Mx+ is H+, the organopolysiloxane pref. has a H+ capacity of 0.1-3.16 meq/g. of polymer. Organopolysiloxane may be tempered for 1 hr. to 5 days at 100-350 deg.C in air or under a protective gas, at normal or excess pressure, or in vacuo.
