    Abstract: An apparatus comprising a hemodialysis system and a control interface configured to allow user control of the hemodialysis system. The hemodialysis system comprises a housing that includes a dialyzer, one or more pumps to circulate blood through the dialyzer, a source of dialysate, and one or more pumps to circulate the dialysate through the dialyzer. The housing includes side-by-side doors that when opened provide access to a front panel for connecting the dialyzer and for making patient blood connections to the hemodialysis system. The doors are closable to block access to the front panel. The control interface includes a display screen with a touch sensitive overlay to allow interaction with a graphical user interface presented on the screen. The control interface is configured to be hung on a hook of one of the doors.

    Abstract: There is provided a modular assembly system for a portable hemodialysis unit, comprising: a dialysis unit including a dialysis unit housing that contains components for performing hemodialysis, including a dialyzer mount with fluidic connections for a dialyzer, a blood pump mounting section with pneumatic connections for operation of one or more pneumatically driven blood pumps to circulate blood through a dialyzer when mounted in the dialysis unit housing, one or more pneumatically driven dialysate pumps to circulate a dialysate through the dialyzer, a dialysate heater, and one or more electronic controllers for controlling the one or more blood and dialysate pumps; and a pneumatic power unit within a pneumatic power unit housing configured to provide pneumatic power to the dialysis unit; wherein the pneumatic power unit is connectable to the dialysis unit via a mechanical and pneumatic connection to the dialysis unit.

    Abstract: A reagent supply connector system for hemodialysis apparatuses is provided. The system comprises: a water supply line coupled to and for providing water to a bicarbonate supply container; a bicarbonate supply line coupled to and for providing a bicarbonate solution from the bicarbonate supply container to the apparatus for producing dialysate solution; and an acid supply line to provide acid solution to the apparatus for producing the dialysate solution. The system further comprises an E-prong connector comprising three parallel prongs including two outer prongs in a common plane, and a center prong above the common plane: the first prong connected to the bicarbonate supply line; the second prong connected to the acid supply line; and the third prong connected to the water supply line. The three prongs allow connection to corresponding receiving holes of a connection point of the apparatus in a single orientation preventing improper connection.
