Abstract: Se provee una bomba peristáltica y sistema y método relacionados; la bomba peristáltica incluye un eje de levas, primera y segunda leva de válvula de pinza, primero y segundo seguidor de leva de válvula de pinza, una leva de émbolo, un seguidor de leva de émbolo, un receptor de tubo y un émbolo desviado por resorte; la primera y segunda leva de válvula de pinza están acopladas con el eje de levas; el primer y segundo seguidor de leva de válvula de pinza se acoplan con la primera y segunda leva de válvula de pinza, respectivamente; la leva de émbolo está acoplada con el eje de levas; el seguidor de leva de émbolo se acopla con la leva de émbolo; el receptor de tubo está configurado para recibir un tubo; el émbolo desviado por resorte está acoplado con el seguidor de leva de émbolo de tal manera que la expansión de la leva de émbolo a lo largo de un ángulo radial que interseca el seguidor de leva de émbolo conforme gira el eje de levas, empuja el seguidor de leva de émbolo hacia el émbolo y con ello desacopla el émbolo desviado por resorte del tubo; un resorte acoplado con el émbolo desviado por resorte desvía el émbolo desviado por resorte para aplicar la fuerza de aplastamiento al tubo.

Abstract: A system for at least partial closed-loop control of a medical condition is disclosed. The system includes at least one medical fluid pump. The medical fluid pump including a sensor for determining the volume of fluid pumped by the pump. Also, at least one continuous analyte monitor, and a controller. The controller is in communication with the medical fluid pump and the at least one continuous analyte monitor. The controller includes a processor. The processor includes instructions for delivery of medical fluid based at least on data received from the at least one continuous analyte monitor.

Abstract: A peristaltic pump, and related system method are provided. The peristaltic pump includes a cam shaft, first and second pinch-valve cams, first and second pinch-valve cam followers, a plunger cam, a plunger-cam follower, a tube receiver, and a spring-biased plunger. The first and second pinch-valve cams are coupled to the cam shaft. The first and second pinch-valve cam followers each engage the first and second pinch-valve cams, respectively. The plunger cam is coupled to the cam shaft. The plunger-cam follower engages the plunger cam. The tube receiver is configured to receive a tube. The spring-biased plunger is coupled to the plunger-cam follower such that the expansion of the plunger cam along a radial angle intersecting the plunger-cam follower as the cam shaft rotates pushes the plunger cam follower towards the plunger and thereby disengages the spring-biased plunger from the tube. A spring coupled to the spring-biased plunger biases the spring-biased plunger to apply the crushing force to the tube.

Abstract: An optical sensor for a delivery device having a piston that displaces a substance, such as a fluid, from a reservoir. The optical sensor has a light source and a detector array for imaging encoding features disposed along a plunger rod coupled to the piston. By virtue of the pattern of encoding features, an absolute position of the plunger rod relative to a fiducial position may be determined uniquely. Thus, the volume of fluid remaining in the reservoir, the rate of fluid delivery, and proper loading of the reservoir may be accurately ascertained. Additionally, the encoding may serve to uniquely identify a version of the reservoir which may be supplied in various versions corresponding, for example, to differing concentrations of a therapeutic agent to be dispensed.
