    Abstract: of the disclosure. Liquid disinfectant concentrates capable of being diluted with water, which substantially consist of mixtures of alkyldimethyl-benzylammonium compounds, an amount effective as solubilizer of a dialkylmetnyl-benzylammonium compound, and 15 to 25 weight % of water are described. Such mixtures are still liquid even in the cited high concentration in water, they have a low viscosity and can be easily diluted with water. They are suitable for formulations of liquid disinfectants having a broad scope of various applications.

They are valuable intermediates, for example for the manufacture of softeners for textiles, of components for organophilic ammonium bentonites and also of microbiocides, especially for combating bacteria, fungi and algae.
