Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To manufacture a highly efficient filter at a low cost by providing filter materials by forming projected parts on the surface of fibrous or platelike filter substrates and bundling or layering these filter materials. SOLUTION: Fibrous, platelike, rod-like ceramics, glass, etc., are used as filter substrates. Projected parts are formed on the surface of such filter substrates by applying ceramic or glass materials formed into a granular shape or amorphous state to the surface of the filter substrates and fixing the materials to give filter materials. Furthermore, a highly efficient filter is obtained by using such filter materials which bear the projected parts on the surface or depositing a catalyst on the filter materials and bundling or layering such filter materials. Since the filter has voids attributed to the projected parts, the stable function is retained for a long duration.

PURPOSE:To provide an apparatus capable of producing glass plate having extremely small warpage and nonuniform thickness distribution (uneven thickness). CONSTITUTION:The subject production apparatus is composed of a forming oven 11 and a forming member 2 placed in the forming oven and having nearly wedge-shaped cross-section. Molten glass 3 is flowed down from the top 10 of the forming member along the front and rear faces of the member and both molten glass flows are joined together at the lower end of the forming member to form a glass plate 3A. Hollow shielding plates 4 are placed at both sides of the glass plate 3A under the forming member 2 in a state parallel and close to the glass plate 3A. A plural sets of the hollow shielding plates 4 are vertically arranged.

PURPOSE:To obtain a fireproof member having high shape accuracy and surface accuracy at the time of use even at a high temp. by cladding a fireproof material formed into a prescribed shape with a Pt or Pt alloy sheet and by adhering this cladding sheet to the fireproof material by heating while vacuum-sucking the air between them. CONSTITUTION:A fireproof material is formed into a prescribed shape and clad with a Pt or Pt alloy sheet. This cladding sheet is then adhered to the surface of the fireproof material by heating them to a temp. above the service temp. of the resulting fireproof member while keeping a vacuum state.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for manufacturing a glass plate with which inward creasing and the generation of a nonuniform woody texture pattern are prevented without causing fusion of glass to a casting mold, so that a high-quality glass plate with a uniform thickness and small warpage can stably be molded; a method for molding a glass plate; and methods for manufacturing a glass material for press molding and an optical element.SOLUTION: The apparatus for manufacturing a glass plate includes a casting mold having a pair of opposed side walls which define the width of a glass plate, and a bottom part having a surface (a top surface) which forms one of opposed two principal surfaces of a glass plate. The bottom part internally has at least two through-holes which are substantially perpendicular to the side walls and substantially parallel to the top surface, and the through-holes have openings in side faces of the bottom part connecting to the outer surfaces of the side walls. The apparatus includes a cooling medium supply pipe having at least one discharge port for discharging a cooling medium on the side face. The cooling medium supply pipe is disposed in such a way that it is put in and taken out of the through-holes and at least one discharge port is located in the through-hole. When the cooling medium supply pipe is disposed in the through-hole, a cooling medium discharged from the discharge port has such a size and/or shape that it can flow out of the opening to the outside of the through-hole.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a glass blank for information recording medium substrate having high planarity even when manufacturing the glass blank which is thinner. SOLUTION: There is provided the method for manufacturing the glass blank for information recording medium substrate through at least: a glass gob drawing process of pressing a glass gob in the softened state on a lower mold by means of an upper mold and the lower mold, and drawing the glass gob between two press surfaces; a stripping process of stripping a disk-shaped glass, which is completely drawn until completion and is left in the softened state in a state of being held between the two press surfaces, from the press surface of the upper mold; and a cooling process of substantially symmetrically cooling the neighborhood of outer peripheral edge of the disk-shaped glass in the softened state on the basis of the center part of the disk-shaped glass in the softened state at timings before and after performing the stripping process. A method for manufacturing a substrate for information recording medium and a method for manufacturing information recording medium using the method for manufacturing a glass blank for information recording medium are also provided. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for mass-producing glass blanks for substrates for information recording media; and to provide methods for manufacturing the substrates for information recording media and the information recording media. SOLUTION: In press molding, a prescribed amount of glass gob in a softened state is pressed until the distance between the molding faces of a couple of pressing molds becomes a prescribed value. A couple of main surfaces and the outer peripheral face of a glass blank are formed by transferring the outer periphery-restricting face to the whole outer periphery of glass by extending the glass along opposing two molding faces of the pressing molds by pressing the glass gob. A thick part is formed at the outer edge of the glass blank by infiltrating the extended gas into a portion of a space for forming the thick part provided at the outer peripheral part of the molding face. The filling degree of the glass into the space for forming the thick part is changed in accordance with the variation of the amount of glass gob supplied at every press molding. The variation width of the amount of glass gob supplied at every press molding and the volume of the space for forming the thick part are set within a range that the thick part is formed, but the glass is not filled in an amount higher than the volume of the space for forming the thick part. The methods for manufacturing the substrates for the information recording media and the information recording media are also provided. COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method capable of obtaining a thin glass molded product with very little warpage without decreasing its production number in a direct pressing method, and an apparatus for manufacturing the thin glass molded product. SOLUTION: The method is for manufacturing a thin glass by press-molding a molten glass gob fed on the shaping surface of a lower die for pressing with the shaping surface of an upper die for pressing which faces the lower die for pressing. For at least a part of time until the press-molded product is taken out from the shaping surface of the lower die after the upper die is removed from the press-molded product after press-molding, an upper die for cooling is put on the press-molded product so as to balance cooling conditions of the upper and lower surfaces of the press-molded product. The apparatus for manufacturing the thin glass is equipped with an upper die for pressing and an upper die for cooling. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for continuously manufacturing a glass plate with a small thickness deviation in the width direction of the plate, from molten glass. SOLUTION: The manufacturing method of a glass plate comprises continuously casting molten glass into a casting mold having a pair of the sidewalls facing with each other, a bottom and an open top and moving the cast glass in one direction along to mold it in the form of a plate. A member having projections is brought in contact with the upper surface of the glass moving in the mold. This promotes the cooling of the upper surface and forms projections and depressions on the upper surface in a way that the projections extend from one side of the sidewalls to the other side of the sidewalls. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of a glass plate to stably supply a glass plate having a constant thickness, a manufacturing method of a base material for press molding made of glass, and a manufacturing method of an optical part. SOLUTION: This glass plate is continuously manufactured by continuously introducing a melt glass flow into a mold and forms into a plate in the mold and the molded glass plate is drawn out of the mold. In this method, the variation of the thickness is reduced by changing the drawing speed of the glass plate based on the change of the height of the molten glass surface introduced in the die. This glass plate is processed into the glass base material for press molding of a desired weight, or the glass base material for press molding is heated and softened and this optical glass part is manufactured via press molding.
