Abstract: PURPOSE:To prepare the subject agent which has handleability similar to that of master pellets, requires no premixing with a resin, and gives satisfactory antistatic effect even when used in a small amt. by converting an antistatic agent compsn. contg. a specific compd. but contg. no synthetic resin into particles of a specified mean diameter. CONSTITUTION:This agent is prepd. by converting an antistatic agent compsn. contg. at least 25wt.% N,N-bis(2-hydroxyethyl)stearylamine and/or stearic acid monoglyceride but contg. no synthetic resin into particles of a mean diameter of 2-7mm. When a pelletized resin is mixed with the agent and molded, a handleability similar to that of master pellets can be obtd. Since the agent need not be premixed and a small amt. of it is enough to give satisfactory antistatic effects, the cost of mixing with the pelletized resin is low. Moreover, a molded article is obtd. which exhibits antistatic effects in a short time after molding.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide a polypropylene resin composition having an excellent antistatic property without damaging the mechanical properties thereof by adding an antistatic agent and a nucleating agent to a polypropylene resin containing an inorganic filler. CONSTITUTION:A polypropylene resin composition is characterized by adding (B) 0.1-2 pts.wt., especially 0.3-1 pt.wt., of an antistatic agent, preferably a compound of the formula (R is 12-22C alkyl, acyl) and/or a 12-22C fatty acid monoglyceride, especially a mixture of a 12-22C alkyl-containing N,N-bis(2- hydroxyethyl) alkyl amine and a 12-22C higher alcohol, and (C) 0.05-1 pt.wt., especially 0.07-0.5, of a nucleating agent such as a dibenzylidene sorbitol derivative, an organic dicarboxylic acid or a salt thereof, or an organic phosphate ester, to (A) 100 pts.wt. of an inorganic filler-containing polypropylene resin comprising a polypropylene resin and an inorganic filler (preferably talc) in a ratio of 95/5 to 65/35, preferably 90/10 to 70/30.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To decrease melt viscosity and improve processability without decreasing mol.wt. by compounding a polyester resin for injection molding with a specific compd. CONSTITUTION:A bisphenol of formula I (wherein X is a group of formula II, -S-, -SO2-, or -0-; and n is 0 or 1) is reacted with a 6-22C alkyl halide and/or an aralkyl halide in the presence of a catalyst to give a compd. of formula III wherein A1 and A2 are each 6-22C alkyl or aralkyl; and R1 and R2 are each H or 4C or lower alky. Separately, a compd. such as biphenyl, diphenyl ether, or diphenyl sulfide is reacted with a 6-22C alpha-olefin in the presence of a catalyst to give a compd. of formula IV wherein R3 and R4 are each 6-22C alkyl; and l+m is 1-3. 100 pts.wt. polyester resin (e.g. polyethylene terephthalate) is compounded with 0.1-20 pts.wt. compd. of formula III or IV.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To improve the antistatic properties of a polyolefinic resin by compounding the resin with the title compsn. comprising a petaboid calcium silicate powder contg. lauroyldiethanolamide absorbed by the powder and a lauric acid monoglyceride powder. CONSTITUTION:Lauroyldiethanolamide (A) having a purity of 80 wt. 96 or higher is absorbed by a petaboid calcium silicate powder (B) having an oil absorption (JIS K 6220) of 200ml/100g. The powder is then mixed with a lauric acid monoglyceride powder (C) which contains lauric acid in an amt. of 80wt.% or higher of acids constituting the glyceride and, as for the degree of esterification, 70wt.% or higher monoglyceride to give the title compsn. The wt. ratio of A/C is (60:40) to (40:60), and the amt. used of B is 10-30 pts.wt. based on 100 pts.wt. the sum of A and C. 100 pts.wt. polyolefinic resin is compounded with 0.1-2 pts.wt. the title compsn. and molded to give a molded article.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrophotographic toner achieving both of good low-temperature fixability and chargeability and showing excellent dot reproducibility in an obtained printed material, and to provide a method for producing the toner.SOLUTION: The method for producing an electrophotographic toner includes steps of preparing an aqueous mixture liquid containing aggregated particles including resin particles (A) and release agent particles, and a nonionic surfactant expressed by general formula (1), and fusing the aggregated particles in the aqueous mixture liquid after and/or while controlling the pH of the aqueous mixture liquid to 2.5 to 5.5 at 25°C. The electrophotographic toner is obtained by the above method. In the formula, Rrepresents a hydrogen atom or an alkyl group having 1 to 12 carbon atoms; Rrepresents a hydrogen atom or a methyl group; m is 1 to 4 as an average; AO represents an ethyleneoxy group and/or a propyleneoxy group; and n is 5 to 100 as an average.
