    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accelerate the hardening speed and to reduce the odor at the casting time by using binder composition containing acid hardenable resin and a specified hardening promoter, hardening agent composed of one or more kinds selected from groups of sulfonate compound and sufric acid and a specific ratio or higher of sulfur content brought about a phenol sulfonic acid and refractoriness granular material. SOLUTION: The binder composition containing the hardening promoter shown in the formula (in the formula, X1 and X2 show anyone of H, CH3 or C2H5), is used. The hardening agent containing >=50% sulfur content brought about the phenol sulfonic acid, is used. Desirably, the hardening agent is composed of the phenol sulfonic acid or the phenol sulfonic acid and the sulfric acid and the acid hardenable resin is one or more kinds selected from furfuryl alcohol, urea/formaldehyde polycondensation material, phenol/formaldehyde polycondensation material or fulfuryl alcohol/formaldehyde polycondensation material, and the hardening promoter is 7,5-bishydroxy methylfuran.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain heat generating element, with which the heat generating material for casting having high strength can be produced without developing any trouble caused by mutual reaction between binder and the heat generating component. SOLUTION: The heat generating element is combined of heat generating composition composed of an easily oxidizing material and an oxidant and if necessary, further, an oxidizing promotor with an organic coating. The organic coating is a capsule of polymer compound. This heat generating element is used for manufacturing the heat generating material for casting together with refractory granular material and binder and desirably, integrating with a mold. In this way, the heat generating efficiency can be improved, and since this element can simultaneously be molded with mold, the absorption of the moisture at the storing time can be restrained, too.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method for obtaining a caking additive with fast hardening velocity by reacting furfuryl alcohol and folmaldehyde. SOLUTION: In this manufacturing method, folmaldehyde and furfuryl alcohol are reacted while having an acidic catalyst whose acid dissociative constant (pKa) in one step is 2.5-4.6 at 25 deg.C, where folmaldehyde: furfuryl alcohol = 0.2-2.0:1 (mole ratio) will be satisfied. Also, acidic catalyst and furfuryl alcohol are reacted at acidic catalyst: furfuryl alcohol = 0.01-0.1:1 (mole ratio).

    Abstract: PURPOSE: To prevent the degradation in the strength of a casting mold at the time of igniting and drying by incorporating a solvent having specific low polarity into an alcoholic mold coat compsn. to be applied on the surface of the casting mold formed of an acid curing binder, acidic hardener and refractories. CONSTITUTION: The org. solvent having a dissolution parameter of 6.5 to 11.0 and 3 to 10C is incorporated at 2 to 80wt. into this coating agent compsn. The acid hardener is one or >=2 kinds selected from an orthophosphoric acid, sulfuric acid and xylene sulfonic acid. Further, the dissolution parameter of the org. solvent is preferably 7.0 to 10.0 and more preferably 7.0 to 9.0. The carbon atoms of the org. solvent are preferably 5 to 7. In either case the content of the org. solvent is specified to 5 to 50wt.%.
