Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject ink comprising a pigment, a dispersing comprising an alkyleneoxide-addition reacted (meth)acrylic acid derivative copolymer, an aminoakcohol and water, and good in the quality of printed letters, dispersion stability for a long period and extrusion stability. SOLUTION: This aqueous pigment ink comprises (A) a pigment such as carbon black, (B) a polymer dispersant comprising the copolymer of an alkyleneoxide-addition reacted (meth)acrylic acid derivative of formula I [R1 , R2 are each H, a lower alkyl; (m1 ) is an integer of 0-2; AO is a 2-3C oxyalkylene; (n) is an integer of 1-300; X is H, a lower alkyl] with a monomer of formula II R3 -R5 are each H, a lower alkyl, a group of the formula: (CH2 )m2 COOM2 [M2 is H, an alkali metal, an alkaline earth metal, ammonium amine; (m2 ) is an integer of 0-2]}, (C) am aminoalcohol such as 2-aminoethanol, and (D) water. The objective aqueous pigment ink is excellent in printed letter quality, dispersion stability under long-term storage, and extrusion stability.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject ink excellent in pigment dispersibility and suitable for ink jet printing use, comprising water, a pigment, a high molecular dispersant, aprotic polar solvent such as dimethyl sulfoxide or sulfolane, and a water-soluble solvent. SOLUTION: This water-based pigment ink excellent in pigment dispersion stability comprises water as aqueous medium, (A) a pigment such as carbon black, (B) a high molecular dispersant consisting of a copolymer from a monomer of formula I (R1 and R2 are each H or a lower alkyl; (m1 ) is an integer of 0-2; AO is a 2-3C oxyalkylene; (n) is an integer of 1-300; X is H or a lower alkyl) and another monomer of formula II [R3 to R5 are each H, a lower alkyl or a group of the formula (CH2 )m2 COOM2 (M2 is H, an alkali metal. alkaline earth metal, ammonium or amine; (m2 ) is an integer of 0-2); M1 is the same kind as M2 ], (C) an aprotic polar solvent such as dimethyl sulfoxide or sulfolane, and (D) a water-soluble solvent such as diethylene glycol.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject ink capable of preventing ink clogging at the tip part of a printer head and burning in printing by mixing a pigment in an amount of a specific range with a dispersant in an amount of a prescribed range and specifying the specific heat and thermal conductivity of the ink in specified ranges. SOLUTION: This ink comprises (A) 2-5wt.% of a pigment and (B) 0.5-6wt.% of a polymer dispersant and has a specific heat of >4.00J/gK to 4.15J/gK and 0.1×10 to 50×10 W/(cm.deg) thermal conductivity. Preferably, the ink has 0.3-30cps viscosity at 25 deg.C and pH 9.5-13.0. A copolymer of (meth)acrylic acid derivative is especially preferably used as the component B. Consequently, an ink suitable for an ink-jet recording method utilizing especially heat energy can be provided.
